Overall I would say the experience was good. I had heard from a person going through Vilnius embassy a month before me that no proof of relationship was asked and yet, they decided to do a second interview without saying that that was the reason.

So having heard about that I took loads of photos, boarding passes from various trips, receipts showing that we charged my fiancée’s credit card on the same trips and letters addressed to me and him at the apartment we have been living in together for 2 years. I put all of this in a big A4 sized envelope and marked it with a note saying ‘PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP’, of course it was about half inch thick. I placed it in between me and the interviewer, the note was facing the interviewer, which was something I did not intend to do and noticed only halfway through the interview  At one point the interviewer asked me whether we travel together and if so where. So I named the countries we have visited together and said: ‘I have plenty of pictures right here if you would like to see them’ the interviewer (a cute guy in his thirties) just looked at the envelope, smiled and said: ‘that’s fine you are good to go, so your passport will be ready in 2 days…’ and that is how I got approved.

An advice I would give anyone going through the process is not to trust the post office. If you order a police certificate and ask for it to be mailed, once the days passes just go to the post office and ask for it. I was waiting for mine for 2 weeks and it was still not coming when I realized that I ordered the wrong thing anyway, so I asked for the right one (israsas) to be prepared in a day and still wasn’t getting it in the post. Finally I just lost my patience and called the department at which point they said it’s been sent a few days ago. I went to the post office the same day and got all of the letters. They were pretending that no one was home when they tried to deliver the documents, even though my fiancé was purposely sticking at home and waiting for them.

Anyway, the embassy experience was good and they will schedule your interview for the next week after you send in the packet 3, so be sure to already have all of the required documents in hand including the medical!
