Gema had to go to the interview alone because sadly I was not able to attend due to work off time and more directly finance strains it would put on us to book a round trip for me.
She arrived at the embassy around 6:30am for 7:30am appointment and waited till almost 7:30 before being moved inside and asked for the standard forms.
2 copies DS156, 2 copies DS157, passport etc.
After moving inside she waited about an hour for her biometric screening which went smooth of course and then more waiting.
Soon she was called over to a Filina prescreener who asked her for her documents and ask how we met. Gema went through the whole story and then the only other questions was "what else?" which was odd because it wasnt a question. She had answered the how we met and how long we have known each other. Gema just elaborated more on the story of us and after a few more "what else?" repeats the Filipina asked for the I-134 stating Gema had not provided it. Gema remindered her she had and to please check again and it was low and behold right in front of the woman.
Not a perfect first interview but it went well enough and we have plenty of evidence to support our relationship.
After about an hour she was called to the American CO window and was greeted by a nice American man with
"good morning beautiful young lady" =)
"good Morning sir"
he was flipping through pictures as she approached and the next thing he said....
"well it looks like everything with your paperwork is in order, no mistakes.
your fiancee is very lucky, I can see how happy he is to have you"
"Yes sir, I love him very much and I am also happy I have him"
The consular officer said "great! you also have a very strong case, you are approved"
Gema paused and her hand was shaking a little from the nerves.
he repeated "ma'am its ok =), you are approved, congrats"
"Thank you sir! =)"
Gema went back to her seat excited, happy, and confused because he didnt ask for any other proofs, they just accepted what was with our original petition lol.
Not even a real single question from the American CO.
Some background for those that don't know our story, we lived together for 8 months in Makati prior to me leaving back to the US. We front loaded our petition to the brim but I really think the time we had together prior to this process really helped us sail through like we did.
Just waiting on the Visa now =).
Can't wait to see her and hold her in my arms again.
