My appointment was scheduled for 10 am, but I decided to leave my hotel around 9:15 or so. I stayed at the Best Western Hotel Europa on Drummond, about a 10-15 minute walk to the consulate. Wen I arrived at the consulate, I told the guard that I was there for a K1 interview, and he let me inside where a lady checked my passport and put a ticket on it. Then through security. I brought a small purse with me just to carry my wallet since I was walking, and a folder with all of my paperwork in it. He asked me to put my folder, purse, and belt in a small wooden basket and ran it through the machine. Everything was good and he then instructed me to go down the stairs and take the elevator to the 19th floor.

On the 19th floor the room was maybe 1/3 full, if that by this time. I went to window 14 and got a ticket. It took probably about 45 minutes before I was called to window 1. She asked for the paperwork one piece at a time, got me to do fingerprints, asked me if I had any questions, and handed me a sheet on domestic violence to read while I waited. She said to make sure I read it as the officer would ask me if I had.

After that, I waited close to an hour and a half to be called. I went to window 19, where the officer asked me how and when I had met my fiancé, when did we meet in person for the first time, and then asked me to walk her through the relationship since then, and asked what my fiancé does for a living. She didn\'t ask to see any of the more recent evidence that I had brought with me just in case. While looking through my file, she asked when was the last time we had seen each other (this past February), she checked the letter of intent, and then nonchalantly announces, "okay, I'm approving this." Handed me the "Welcome to the United States" sheet and off I went!

Edit: A lot of reviews have said the interview was the easiest thing they've ever done. I extremely nervous even though I knew I had nothing to worry about. So nervous that I almost threw up while getting ready that morning. It seriously was unbelievably easy and not something to get worked up about!
