Had my London embassy appointment this morning.

The appointment was for 8:30 and I arrived at 7:45 after leaving my phone at Goulds pharmacy (3 pounds).

Once inside you are seen in the order you arrive in your category. There were E, I and N numbers. While I was there about 100 N numbers were processing, 10 I numbers and 6 E numbers.

I took a seat with I907 (7th I number in line). They first started calling numbers at 8am. In about 45 minutes they got to mine, I was called up to window 1 where there was a Asian origin british lady. The hall is loud and I struggled to hear a lot of what the lady behind the counter said. She processed the paperwork and took my interview sheet, passport and passport photos. She got a file from the back which had all my submitted information to NVC which she checked off against a checklist she had. She mentioned she thought I had travelled a lot for my age but quickly moved on. She gave a lot of our "extra" financial evidence back as we had one account that just made the 5x poverty guidelines and that was all she wanted to see (we applied on assets alone as our jobs were not transferring to the US).

All done she handed me the courier sheet to fill in while waiting for the interview. There are pens at the courier desk.

Waited another 30 minutes and got called up, I904 and I906 were skipped, I guess they never had the correct documentation so never got past the first window, or I jumped them because my first-window-segment took a lot less time than other I numbers that were going up. The second interview is down a corridor so no noise from the waiting room, very easy to hear. It was still at a window, not in a room which I had mistakenly expected.

My interviewer was a late 20s/early 30s American man. He was friendly, polite and professional. First he double checked my fingerprints. He looked through some of the photos that came with the file (I had more on me because I realized I never submitted any photos of the wedding! He never asked for any though). He asked me
If I had any criminal record
How we met
When/where did we get married
Whether we had any kids
Why we want to move to the US
Where my wife went to high school
Where she went to college and what degree does she have

Then those magic words came "Im going to approve your visa application". He asked me if I had any questions, I said no but obviously still looked like a deer in the headlights because he asked if I knew what happened next, I said no and he explained it to me.

Dropped off the courier form and paid for 10am delivery. Time to celebrate javascript:emoticon('') only POE to go javascript:emoticon('')
