Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I am a Swedish citizen and was adjusting my status from F-1 student visa after marrying my husband (USC). Our appointment was at 11am and we got there around 10.40am. Went through security and got a form to fill out asking for my basic information such as address and phone number etc. There weren't a lot of other people in the waiting area, probably about 5 other parties and I think we were the last ones to come in (at least during the time we were there).

We got called around 11.20am by a hispanic lady in her thirties. She showed us to her office and once we sat down she didn't even close the door (which I thought was a good sign because it made me feel like the interview was gonna be over with fast, but maybe that was just me overanalyzing, lol). Anyway, she swore us in and checked our ID's, then proceeded by asking us basic questions like confirming our address, birthdays, wedding date, if we have any kids etc. She then asked me how my husband and I met and when we started dating, then asked some questions regarding my birth certificate, asked what I am studying and wanted to see pictures of us. I had prepared about 30 and she didn't even look through all of them and didn't ask questions about any of them either, just made a comment that Massachusetts is a nice place (that's were we met). She then wanted to see my passport and asked when the last time I I entered the country was and I replied last summer. She checked the I-94, ripped it out and told us that we had passed :D

After that she explained the ROC process and gave me a notice stating that we passed and that the green card should be mailed out shortly. The entire interview probably lasted about 5-10 minutes and was way less painful than I had expected. Oh, and my husband tried to make some little jokes and ask about the pictures of her kids she had on her desk to ease the situation a little but she didn't seem to like that, lol.

That was my 2 cents, hopefully it can help somebody out there going through the process. Good luck everyone!
