I stayed at the 'Le Dauphin Montreal Downtown' Hotel, few minutes walking distance from the Consulate. The hotel was very nice, I would say that everything in the room was almost brand-new; very clean, comfortable and convenient. Wi-Fi was included; there was a desk-top computer in my room and, if needed, there is a Business Room (Room 500) with a laser printer. Breakfast in included but not the parking (BTW, it's 130 CAD/night); for the parking, you can use the hotel's parking for a fee and if available (it was full that day); if not, the hotel will recommend an indoor parking close-by at 22CAD/night but you can drive around the hotel and you can save some dollars for an outdoor parking.
About the interview, my experience wasn't any different than other VJ's experience; I would say that all the stress I had was for nothing. I wasn't the first in line (arrived at the consulate at 7.30 am, when they opened the door) but my wait time was like 15 minutes for the first window - were the checked all documents and took fingerprints) and 10 more minutes for the interview. The interview itself wasn't longer than 10 minutes; the officer took the oath, then checked all documents again, asked few questions (how did we met, how our relationship was progressing, what my fiancee's (USC) job is...) and that was it. She handed me the 'Welcome' flyer, told me that I'll have my passport back in 5-7 business days and... that was it! javascript:emoticon(' ')
All in all it was a nice experience; it you have all the required documents, if everything you've sent to them is true, there is no need to worry about anything.
Next day after my appointment I received an email from Loomies that they have my passport; however since we had the long week-end, the had the passport at my location after 5 days. No big deal
Good luck to all of you
