Today (01/04/2007 [mm/dd/yy]) I just get my VISA K-1 at Lima, Peru USA embassy. My appointment was for 7.30 am, the first turn, I went at 7.00 am. I was the third in the line.
I was very very nervous. We went into the bulding at 7.30 am and I was called to the window number 10. It was a lady that spoke in spanish to me, she just ask me for the forms DS-156 (2), DS-156K (1), DS-157 (1), medical certificate, Banco de la Nacion Invoice, and evidence of the relationship like boarding passes, letters, and pictures. After that she asked to take sit. I waited for about 15 minutes !! ... AWFUL ... and then I was called to the window number 9, there was a man in his fourties, and the first he said was "..there is a problem ..... " ( I was dying at that moment ) but then "...with the computer..." ... wow I freaked out ... then he said "..take sit I'll call you again..." (at this point all the conversation was in spanish).
I was waiting and he start calling to the other persons, I saw one approval and one ... " ... send extra migration evidence papers together by DHL to this address and we will call you to ask you to come back ... ", there was a case were she was with her fiance and they asked her to stay sit and because he was going to the ROOM 15 .. I don't know why. Then was my turn again ... I went to the window and the guy start talking to me in english, and he asked me how many times I was in USA, I said 5 ... after that he asked me the longest time I have been in USA, and then we start with the problems because 2005 and 2006 were high travel years for me for business. So I was not sure, and I said 3 months in June, then he asked me are you sure ?, and I said .... no, then he start to be REALLY RUDE !!, and he said, How is possible you don't know !! .. what about August 2005 !!! ... I was peeing in my pants by that time ... but then I remembered, and I said oh ok ... 5 months from August to December 2005. After that he asked me: "where did you met ?", "How did you met ?", and he asked why you were in USA, so I said for business, and then again being really rude he said, THAT ANSWER IS NOT HELPING ME !! .. Why did you travel ? , then I gave him a better explanation of my business. more questions, Where are you going to live ?, Where is she living ?, How old is she ?, How old are you ?, Have you being married before ?, She has been married before ?, Does she has kids ? .... and that was all. After 30 seconds of silence, with only the noice of some papers, he took the pink ticket, and said: "Visa approved", Have a good day .... with not even an smile.
