My fiance had his interview this morning and this is his experience...or the best that we can remember through our relief and excitement.
His interview was scheduled for 9:00am and he arrived at the Embassy just before 8:00am after dropping off his keys at Goulds. He said it was simple to get through security if you follow the security guidelines, and once you are through they rush you off lol.
Once inside he was given his number and then waited about an hour until he was called to the first window where he was met by an Indian woman, who he said was not the happiest of people. She asked for his documents and took his fingerprints, gave him his form for the courier and then he took a seat again.
He said he waited another hour or so before being called for the interview. He said that once he rounded the corner and saw the nice Africian American woman smiling at him he felt much more relaxed (we had read several reviews where it was mentioned how nice and genuine she was). Once to the window she started with the questions:
What is your fiancee\'s name?
What does she do? (She made small talk regarding my profession and it being stressful)
When did you meet?
Where did you meet? (This was as simple of an answer as Las Vegas, however my fiance felt very relaxed and gave her a quick history of our visits to each other)
How did you guys keep in touch?
When did you first talk about marriage?
What made you guys decide on the US? (My fiance explained that due to my fathers health it would be difficult for him to travel to the UK for a wedding and it was important to us that he be there)
After that she must have been satisified because she then said she was happy to approve the visa! My fiance thanked her and told her how happy she had made us, then went to pay for the courier service.
All we can say is that we are very thankful for a great outcome, the outcome everyone hopes for.
