My husband and I got to the consulate early in the morning, around 6:30 AM, ending up second in the line. Waited about an 1 or so, once security guard open the door entering one at a time, the first thing they checked was our passports and Loomis number (Make sure you have this printed otherwise they send you back as it happened to a couple of people and they lost their line). After this you proceed through security (nothing is basically allowed like purses or briefcases except the documents so just bring in a plastic bag or something). After this you go down the stairs and wait by the elevator. The security guard will come open the elevator and send you to the 19th floor. Once there head left towards cashiers counter to pick up ticket/token number. From there you get seated and they will call out your number and to which window to proceed. The first interview is just to give originals and make sure of name, address, phone number and they take fingerprints. After this, you get seated again and they will call your number again for the second interview. This is where the officer will ask questions. Our interview was basic and we had a very nice officer. He basically asked where you live, what do you do, when you planning on going to the states, and how you met to the both of us? After that couple of basic general questions regarding any criminal, legal issues in the past? He also asked have you ever had any trouble at the border? (Answer honestly because they want to know the truth and they state it is not a big issue if you were denied...my husband was denied once and he stated why to the officer and he basically stated its not an issue) And that was it...ended with "Im approving your visa Welcome to the US"
Just be organized with all the documents and be honest. Its not as bad as it might seem so relax and you should be fine.
