We arrived to the embassy 5 minutes before 7. We were already inside by 7am and the wait began. When he was finally called, around 10 o'clock, a friendly lady (CO) asked him for 2 additional photos. He stated that he had already sent everything to Haiti messenger. The lady then said that they will need it and that otherwise she will have to schedule the interview for March '13. My fiancé asked her to give him a pass and that he will take them nearby and bring them to her. Surprisingly enough, she agreed. We left the embassy with a pass and he was given 6 horrible but precious passport pictures - due to the circumstances - for 400 HTG or almost $10 US. We went to the embassy and gave the photos. He was called 10 minutes later for fingerprints and another wait began.
At 12:20 pm, he was called. The lady was extremely nice to us. She asked who i was. My fiance answered. She had us both swear that we have been telling the truth and will do so today. My fiancé was given the papers to sign. Then she asked him for an original of his birth certificate (extrait des archives) which he did not have. He told them that he had already given it to Haiti messenger. The lady searched but it was in neither of the envelopes. She saw a copy and said it was fine. She then proceeded to ask ME for my parents' name. My fiancé thought she wanted him to answer but she said not him. So I answered. Afterwards, she said you both look so alike, like brother and sister. We laughed. Then, she looked though our pictures and laughed at a couple of them and congratulated him for the visa. She asked us how many children we would have, if we are planning for 2, 5. We said maybe 2. Life is too hard for 5. We went to Haiti messenger to pay the $15 and we were out of the embassy at 12:30 pm. What a long day!!! we did not even eat in the morning. we don't think it was necessary as they could have proceeded faster but it was worth it at the end!!! Can't wait to meet him in the USA
