The interview was conducted in English, as per Nguyet's preference. The interviewing officer was polite and asked detailed questions, with a few simple trick questions thrown in, like "Is your husband . . . ?" But Nguyet found herself feeling comfortable after a few minutes and all went well.
The other applicants were surprised when Nguyet came out smiling.
