My husband's interview was on January 8, 2012 at 6:15a. I will relay everything he told me to the best of my ability, however, there will be pockets of missing information, as it was HIS interview, not my direct experience.
So, first off, from mt perspective, it is the day before (US Pacific)and I am looking for things to do to keep me busy. The anxiety from waiting has been agony, as many of us know...but this waiting was by far the worse (so far). After 12+ cleaning the whole house, working out and checking my Skype every 2 minutes, I FINALLY hear from my husband! I am puyat from waiting and waiting and he told me that he was approved. THIS WAS SUCH A RELIEF! It is nice to have that part out of the way.
Cutting to the chase, my husband told me he needed to go directly to NBI right after he spoke to the person at the last window. He had been at the USEM from early morning, to the late afternoon. I am guessing it is same wait time and dreaded experience as everyone else here in VJ. So, he went to NBI to order a new clearance with an AKA. My husband was adopted, so he needed to retrieve another NBI showing his non-adopted name. Luckily, he was able to get his order in at NBI and they were able to release his clearance the next day, from which he then went to 2GO, to have the NBI clearance delivered to USEM. Apparently, you cannot go back in person to hand any docs in yourself after you have your interview. 2GO advised my husband that the USEM will receive his parcel the next day (bare in mind, he lives in Makati, close to Manila). As of now, we wait, pray and hope that his visa will be sent to him in a matter of a week (like so many other lucky VJ members that had this issue too).
To back track a bit, my husband told me he had the same consulate officer that denied him a work visa in 2011. The CO remembered him, to my husband's surprise! So this worried my husband greatly, but the CO reassured him that this visa is a completely different thing than the visa he was denied the year prior. I asked my husband what questions the CO asked him, but my husband said he didn't ask him anything or did not request to see pictures??? So crazy! That kind of worries me, but, the CO told him that he approved the visa and to just wait for his number to be called! That is when my husband eventually was called and found out that he needed to still attain the NBI with AKA on it.
Once my husband is here, I will provide a more detailed review about his interview. For now, we are still in crunch time, waiting in desperation to see each other. We have not seen each other since I flew out of Manila on January 27, 2012. I was in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy with our first baby ever and I had to leave him to be cared for by my doctors here in San Francisco. It has been a terribly difficult year without my husband by my side...even harder when I gave birth to our daughter, who is now a bit over 5 months old. God is good though people - He did not forsake us (has He ever? No way!!), since our lovely daughter is VERY healthy and I am also healthy. We were approved... and now it is just a bit longer to wait, until we can see each other again!! Kaunti lang tiis - pwede yan! It is all worth it for us to be reunited again. I mean, we do have the rest of our lives to be together dba?! Hehehe. More updates to come, to anyone reading
