Our interview was on Nov 1st, at 7:30am at the US Consulate in Dominican Republic. We got there at 6am, our magic number was 162. We were called to window 17 about an hour later, all they asked for was for the Banco Popular pin. They asked us to sit down and wait for our interview. Half an hour later we were called to window 23, a very nice blond white woman conducted ur interview. She asked my husband in Spanish: Where and when we met?Where I work?Name of my parents? When was the last trip I took to see him?If we had a honeymoon and when it was?She then asked for pictures, we showed her two albums. While she was looking at the album she asker me in English:His parents names? What do I do for work? We were never seperated at any point in time during our interview. She then proceeced to look through his file and said that I was $200 short for sponsorship and that I needed to have another sponsor besides me and my mother, or if I had a bank letter that stated I had more than $200 in that acount that would be ok too. I told her that when I sent the packet to NVC I included 2 bank letters. She said they were not in the file. Luckily I had acopy and gave it to her. She said that everything was ok with our case but that there was some administrative processing that needed to be done on their part. We were very worried and asked her if we had been denied, she said no don't worry. We will call you in about 2 and a half weeks so that you (my husband) can deposit your passport and then you visa would be issued. She took down his house and cell phone number. It has been almost 3 weeks and no phone call as of yet. I'm afraid this might take months as I've heard from some people. I'm not quite sure what to do or think. I refuse to leave without him. HELPPPP!!!!
I forgot to add that when she gave us the green paper the only boxes that were checked was the additional administrative process box and the box that says to pay Domex immediately. The 221g box was not checked or any other box on the paper. She gave us the green paper along with the small green slip and we proceeded to pay Domex.
Update: We received an email to deposit his passport 28 days later. We received his visa packet Dec 14th. We are now in the NYC and very happy.
