Great advice by others on VJ allowed us to be out before 9:00am! So I'll reiterate that advice.
1. Ignore your appointment time. Ours was 10:00am but we were there around 7:00am
2. Arrive at the embassy by 7:00. Lineups start around then. We were third in line
3. Ensure you abide by the allowable items guideline to help expediate entry
4. Have you passport and courier registration letter ready
5. Doors open at 7:30 where you will present #4 above and be scanned
6. After successful entry you will go downstairs to sit by the elevator. Sit close, it opens at 8:00
7. Entering the elevator prepare to exit the rear door to the left
8. When the doors open make a sharp left and proceed to the wickets rear of the elevator and present your appointment letter. In return you will receive a call tag
9. Go have a seat and wait for your number to be called
10. 1st call will have you present specific documents and take your prints
11. Return to your seat and wait for the second call
12. 2nd call will be your interview. You may be asked for other documents at that time. Simply answer all questions honestly.
At the 1st wicket the lady was extremely pleasant. For the interview the lady was somewhat more stern/businesslike and understandably so. She was doing considerable typing and review of documents. Questions asked were:
1. Do you have divorce certs?
2. Tell me about your relationship . . . when/where/how you met and how often you've seen each other
3. Have you had any indiscretions since 1982?
