Interview at the US Embassy - "Your visa has been approved. You're good to go."
10-26-12
It was a very thorough and quite probing interview, and one which was both very fair and measured in a way that made it feel like a conversation rather than an interrogation. I came prepared with documents, written and photographic evidence of the quality and honesty of the relationship, and also some evidence of why I had visited San Francisco so frequently in the previous 5 years. However, he did not want to see any of this. He wanted to hear me talk about the relationship. I was tempted at times to refer to material I had with me, but decided in the end that speaking to him with my eyes open would give him a perfectly true indication of my intentions and integrity.

Some of the questions he asked were:
Is your wife here? Why not?
How did you two meet?
Tell me about her family.
Have you met her mother?
How old is she? How old are you?
You were only recently divorced. Have you been living with your ex wife?
When did you split up?
You were divorced in October. And married when?
You were visiting a lot. Sometimes for three months.
What do you teach?
Will you work when you get to SF?
What’s her job?
Will you take your savings with you?
How much do you earn?
