We arrived at noon and had our initial meeting to go over the paper work. This took about 30 minutes and we had to give the DS-156,230 I-34 and financial evidence etc. They verified we had all of our paperwork in order and asked us to sit down and wait until 1:00 so we could pay the fee. We paid and waited until almost 3:30 or 4:00 until the official interview. We were the last 2 people in the embassy waiting room and we were really nervous. The actual interview was so quick that we couldn't believe we had waited this long for it! They asked us how we met etc. but my fiancee had done such a good job and provided so much detail that there wasn't a whole lot left to ask. The consulate told us that our visa was approved and we could come back and pick it up on Monday. It might have been easier since we have a daughter and she was there with us. Our daughter is a US citizen so they really had no reason to deny mom access to the US.
I am happy that we made it through this and all of this stress and waiting almost ruined our relationship but in the end made us stronger.
Read all of the details and steps and get everything right the first time! You have to do this as a team or it's not going to work. We did it with love and patience and lot of hard work!
