We spent the night at the Paragon Hotel which was a real nice room (junior suite). We woke at 4:30 am to prepare and by 5:40 we were in line at the Embassy. Their were about 40 people there already in front of us. Initially it seemed confusing ( us taking papers out of our folder etc).
We were fortunate in that our printed forms had barcodes. Some forms people print do not have the barcodes. It make the process somewhat smoother when outside.
Upon entering we were given a number and we sat and waited. When called my fiancee and her children (with me tagging along) had their biometrics accomplished (fingerprint scans).
We eventually went to the first interview window where a filipina interviewer talked to all of us ( children included ) She did ask about childrens father and if they divorced (trick question??). Anyways we brought proof their was no marriage before and that he was also deceased. To my surprise (not my fiancees) she asked for documentation of continuing support which my fiancee had already printed out).
we gave the DS156k, 156's, 157's pictures, cenomars, nbi, etc to the lady, they let us keep our papers on continuous relationship. We went and sat back down
maybe 45 minutes later we were called to another interview "window" where the US interviewer was. he was professional, and seemed real caring to not only my fiancee but the children asking them about their favorite sports, school, do they like me, etc etc... He asked my fiancee some simple questions, like when were we "officially" engaged... She didnt know the date and looked at me and i replied to him, I didnt know, it just seemed to occur. he smiled and laughed a lil bit an thanked us for being honest about not knowing.
He seemed glad I was there also. he did ask me what i liked best about her, and asked her what she liked best about me. he asked if it was my first time here in the Philippines and I told him no, that weve been working our long distance relationship for 3 years now, he looked at the copies of visas and complimented me on being a frequent flyer "grin".
A few simple yet real questions was all. thanked us for not stressing out, and wished us good luck on our new life. My fiancee was going to walk away, but re-asked the Man if that means we were apprved, he smiles and said Yes, congrats to us, he sees no issues and were approved.
We then went to wait and were called to window 71, where they managed our paperwork and told us were dont and to wait for a text from 2go... We did wait from 03 Oct until 18 Oct for the text, I had scheduled a return flight on the 17th so now the will complete their paperwork (CFO items) and then we will schedule our flights..
Overall it was an exceptional experience... Kudo's to the Embassy staff...
Regards
