First of all. VISA JOURNEY has been my constant companion all throughout this visa processing and I am very thankful for that!
this has been a rough week for me, most of all Last August 30 when I rescheduled my interview from October 5 to September 7. without
-A cenomar
-medical appointment
-affidavit of support
-some more missing docs.
I am also a COSPONSOR CASE, my fiance with no savings, earnings, etc. and my cosponsor would not be living in the same household with us.
Today, I went to the USEM, with everything  you dont want to know what I have been through to reproduce everything in a week.
my Fiance and I arrived at USEM at 630 am. there were two lines, and of course we were lined up at the Immigrant Visa Section. my passport, ds forms 156,157,156k were asked and appointment letter. Since I have compiled all of them already before hand, I just handed that to the filipino screener over the gate and he let us pass through. We got our things scanned,went to get our number the lucky 6140!
So now we are ready to start the process. my number was actually called after 2 hours, and I started to panic because all of the people were called already, and there were 2 of us not yet called. A good lady employee explained that maybe they are still looking for the physical packet of mine. at last at 9am, my name number was called! She asked me to hand over my passport and picture. then asked me to sit again, after 15 mins, my number flashed again for fingerprinting. My name and birthday was asked for so many times during the screening, and interview with the filipino consul. okay another 20 mins of waiting, and I was interviewed by the Filipino consul. questions asked where:
name?
birthday?
where did you meet?
do you have kids?
never married?
and she asked for pictures! and we had a hard time sliding my scrapbook over their window! she browsed a little and looked for awhile. then returned it to me again. She then asked for my fiance's 1-134, then I handed over our cosponsor docs. she told me that it would be the consul's discretion if he would accept it or not. I said okay and thank you ma'am. then we were asked to sit down again.
for the last stop, we waited for another 45 mins, and i noticed it was already 11:30 already and we are not yet called. then my number flashed again! woohoo this is it!
We approached window 61, and saw an american consul in his 30-40s. He asked us to raise our right hands and to swear. He then noticed that our clothes are alike. (yeah, I asked my fiance to wear a pink polo too) and he found it really cute! I was prepared for a long conversation and q&a portion but he just asked one thing, where did we meet. and I said medical school. then he said isnt that difficult cause we are both studying. I replied: oh, we were classmate actually and seatmates because of the proximity of our surnames. then he said, okay everything looks good. ur medical results are not yet in, we will just wait for that then we issue ur visa pls proceed to the next window.
omg. and I said thats it???? I didnt even had a chance to touch my folder and bring out some more documents!
oh well to make everything short. I was very surprise of the outcome. yah and it pays off to be very very prepared than not at all.
Too bad, my medical results was left at st. lukes, because the doctor needed an emergency leave. I understand, cause I am a doctor too.
