We submitted our Packet 3 on August 16. On August 20 we received an e-mail that the interview was for August 27 so I scrambled to line up some flights. A couple days before the interview the Embassy called my fiancee to say they had a meeting so they moved the interview to August 28, and I scrambled to change our return flights!

We had plenty of time to go over our documents and practice the interview questions. We arrived at the Embassy on the 28th at about 5:30am. There were already about 15 people in line. At 6:45 the two girls in the pink Body Glove shirts came out and gathereed the 6 K-1/CR-1 ladies and let them inside. I was told I could not go in with my fiancee.

As I waited outside, 2 of the girls came out at different times and went running down the street only to return shortly thereafter. The first girl came out around 8:30, she had a CR-1 and was with her husband, she got approved. Three others came out and they obviously got approved. Another came out still holding her passport which was a bad sign.

After 4 hours my fiancee came out with the good news. Apparently they did all the 28th interviews first and her last!

When she went inside she went to window 6 and paid her 350bht for the EMS box. She was then called up to the window to give her supporting documents. The woman was nice and told my fiancee what she wanted. They preferred the photos that were copied two to a page as opposed to the small albums.

She then got called to window 5 and the farang began the interview in Thai, he didn't even ask what her preference was. A lot of standard questions about how we met, what type of job I had, how offten we communicate, how often I visit etc. His questions were very direct and detailed. He was polite but firm. My fiancee was nervous but did not feel intimidated and felt at ease talking in Thai. The CO asked a lot of questions about our photos, especially the ones with her family, he wanted to know who was in the picture and when and where it was taken. The interview was fairly short and went over most of the areas we prepared for. She was told that the visa would be put in her passport on Thursday and we should recieve it on Friday or Saturday (we had a Sunday flight!). Friday afternoon the package arrived, we flew home and uneventfully entered the US through LAX. Life is good
