Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My husband and I went in for my adjustment of status interview.
We parked around the corner from the building, no problem.
Walked in, went through security (NO cellphones!) And found the room easily upstairs. There were a few other couples in the waiting room... It was very quiet!

Eventually an Eastern European lady called our name, and guided us to her office. She was very polite and professional.
We took an oath saying we would tell the truth. She prepared some paperwork while we waited.
She asked us some basic questions like each others' full names, where we were both born, birthdays & each others' parents names.
She asked us to talk about how we met, our wedding & our plans for the future.

She looked through my folder of evidence and took copies of my utility bills / insurance papers etc, made copies of wedding photos.
And that was it!

I appreciated that she treated us with dignity & respect and did not make us feel uncomfortable when we were asked to talk about our private life to a complete stranger.

Extra note: My husband and I thought it was neat that (seemingly?) all of the employees at the office were immigrants, of various ethnic groups and backgrounds.

Good luck to everyone!
