Straightforward and simple. My USC fiancé approached the CBP officer first and let him know that he is traveling with me, his fiancée, on a K-1 visa. The CBP officer opened my medical envelope, checked my visa, stamped my passport and let us know that we need to get married within 90 days. No questions. No harassment whatsoever.

My fiance's entry on K-1 was very smooth. We had no secondary and the wait was minimal. As others have recommended, we used the non-US line. Both the immigration officer and the customs officer were LGBT-friendly and congratulated us. The wait for an officer was roughly 3 minutes long. She opened the packet and then flipped through it, looked at the medical very carefully, asked how long we had known each other, and then she asked when we planned to get married. My fiance's passport was then stamped with a validity of 90 days from today and the K-1 visa was crossed out.

My fiancée entered the immigration after landing at 1:50pm. There were about 100 people in line waiting for the immigration officers. She waited 20 minutes before she was assisted by an IO. Once she spoke with the immigration officer, it went very quickly (5 minutes). He took the K1 packet and asked some questions about her kids, where we met, and when do we plan to get married. He seemed strict at first but in the end, he welcomed her in her own language (which shocked her). She didn't know he was a Filipino.

Customs was completely empty at O'Hare. Walked right up, gave them the sealed medical exam and showed them the K1 visa on the passport. They gave me back the CD with the chest x-ray and kept the envelope & explained that I had 90 days to get married, stamped my passport. Walked right through in less than 2 minutes
