The officer was either really bored or really tired - we got in at 2 am after a 5-hour delay. The only question he asked me was if this was my first time in the Sates. It took him about 10 minutes to go through all the paperwork. Stamped my passport, stapled the i-94 in my passport and that was it

This seems to be a common thread with Boston, but I too had an officer that had never dealt with a K1 visa before! Having said that this was a quick any easy experience!

I arrived on the late BA flight from London at around 2130 and the CBP hall was nearly empty when I got there, I was initially directed to the visitor line and then on to a US desk. The CBP officer asked me what the purpose of my visit was and I told him I was there to get married and live in the US. He asked me what visa I had (K1) and that's when he said that he'd never dealt with one before.

He had a look at the visa and asked me what "Pet Approved" meant, I explained that it was petition and we had a laugh about it not being about animals. He also wanted to know what the envelope contained, I said to him that I think it's all the paperwork relating to the visa, which he then proceeded to open. He then took just my right four finger prints and photo, I guess it was just the four as I've visited 14 times in 18 months!

The officer then went off to speak with another colleague and he returned in a couple of minutes and told me that it was easy for him to do. One of the pages of the package documents had been folded over and he stamped it. He stamped up the I-94 and told me I had 90 days to get married and adjust status. I was handed back my passport, welcomed to the USA and he wished me luck for the future.

I then went downstairs, picked up my bags, spoke briefly to one of the CBP officers downstairs, who asked me what my visit to the US was, he wished me luck, and that was it. Landing, CBP, baggage, exit - 30 minutes!

Arrived by cruise ship into Boston Harbour after transatlantic crossing. Immigration information given the day before told us all non US Citizens to be present in the main dining room at 6.30am as immigration officers would board the ship and everyone would be proccessed on board before disembarkation.
We were in a long line at 6.30am, made it to the front of line by 7.15am had my package and x ray ready for them, then the problems started, nobody knew what to do with us, we were told to take a seat and wait till their supervisor arrived, 20 mins later supervisor arrived and told us they didn't have the necessary equipment to process immigrant visas and didn't know what they were going to do with us (panic setting in we had an 11am flight booked out of Boston Airport) after much discussion they suggested we would be cleared of customs on the ship and were told to take a taxi to Logan and ask there if they could process us, we hurried of the ship collected our bags and took a taxi to the airport, traffic wasn't great but we arrived about 8.30 am and headed straight to immigration. More waiting, they didn't know what to do with us either as we hadn't arrived by air and they couldn't seem to find a carrier code to enter for the ship, finally someone else came into their office and took us through to the processing area, where our fingerprints were taken then passports stamped for entry (they just wrote in the stamp CR1) we just made our flight.

A quick and easy process and everyone at Logan airport was very friendly and professional. The immigration officer had never dealt with a K1 visa before, so we has a good laugh about me being here guinea pig
