I was able to get my 90 day EAD by coming through JFK. I had to go from Toronto, to Halifax, to JFK though so that I would go through U.S. Immigration at JFK

Got pulled aside with several other Moroccans and had to wait while every other passenger from his plane AND all other planes that arrived after him passed through
