Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Appointment for biometrics

My appointment was scheduled for 2pm. I arrived early at 1:30pm, the officer at the door said it was pretty empty and I could go in - I was out of the door in less than 10 minutes! Overall really good and trying to calm down people, the lady that took my picture and fingerprints was very nice! She couldn't fix the typo on my last name but she made a note about it.

Once I was outside, I checked my account and it had changed to "actively being processed". I received the "classic" 3 texts and emails today regarding the changes on my account the next morning, no other updates since.

Review Topic: Naturalization

I attended my naturalization interview this morning. Arrived about 40 minutes before start time. Parking is still $8 but you can pay with a card now. Grab your things out of your car and enter your plate number at the machine. (I made the mistake of leaving my things in my car and going to the machine first because I assumed I'd have to go back to the car to place the parking ticket. So I had to walk all the way back to the car just to get my stuff).
Getting in the building and through security was quick, there wasn't a line. There was only one person waiting in front of me to get checked in. Check-in was friendly, and fast. I got my ticket and went upstairs. Reminder that it's better to go to the area to the right when you go up the stairs, it is easier to hear the agents who come out to call numbers. My number was called after maybe 20-25 minutes? It was quick.
The girl who interviewed me was very neutral and emotionless, which was honestly fine with me. The interview ... read complete review

AOS interview was on time, immigration officer communicated in clear language, respectable demeanor, and professional manner. I thought we got lucky with our IO as I have read of other feedback from others that were not quite as pleasant.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We arrived 20 minutes before our scheduled appointment time. You have to pay $8 to park at the Dept of Homeland Security office in Tukwila. They take credit cards. We waited outside until 15 minutes before and then went in, went through a metal detector, and waited in line to get a number. We probably waited 15 minutes before the interviewer called our number. Make sure to sit where you can hear the interviewers - it's hard with the masks and we saw someone not hear their number called. Our interviewer was super nice. She asked us some basic questions - where did we meet, what's our address, etc. and then went through our packet to make sure all the information was updated. We had moved so there were a few things to update. We handed her our evidence and after she asked a bunch of questions directly from the 485 form, we were told we were approved! His green card came within 6 business days!

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

After (almost) two long years since we filled it was our turn to go to the field office to adjust my status.

We have been married for over two years and have a solid and loving relationship.

We entered the building 15 minutes prior to our interview. It seems like those are their current covid restrictions. They checked us in - we presented our interview notice along with state IDs. We walked upstairs, which is a huge waiting room and waited for our turn. There were about 10-15 parties. Officers were calling people in from all over the room. After more than an hour it was our turn.

We got a very nice young lady, who explained the whole interview to us. She swore us in and then started reviewing my I-485. We made some corrections to my work history and our address. She went over the yes/no questions. I admitted working without an authorization years ago (it was a matter of couple of weeks). She asked me some details about it and then moved ... read complete review
