Fairly short, painless, but thorough.

It was fairly painless. The letter stated our interview was at 9 am, we arrived at 8:30 and we were in the waiting room by 8:45 am. There were 7 couples ahead of us, by the time our names were called and we left the building it was 9:35 am

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our AOS Interview was awesome! We arrived 15 minutes early and were called in 10 minutes early. We were sworn in, she asked about how we met, the wedding, our parents, the honeymoon. Asked about my husbands job etc. Then she wanted to see our evidence that we were married and have joint assets. I handed over the bills, leases, statements etc. She went through my file, checked stuff off, made sure my information was correct.

Then told us we were all done and that i would have nmy greencard in a couple weeks. It was all very speedy and she was very nice and smily and put us at ease. I was very impressed!

As you would expect from these yahoo's, new facility (can't afford to educate our kids, but they can build new facilities to police people here...), seemed like almost all personnel new to job, stiff, by-the-book, afraid to make mistake, etc.

Actual interview was going well, until I mentioned something I did not have paperwork covering, so we had to return with documentation, divorce of 2nd wife.

2nd interview was introduction, check new doc's, stamped OK on paperwork, said "OK, you will be mailed AOS notice & "greencard", "NEXT".

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We were interviewing for I-130 and I-485 as we were married in late July after I arrived as a visitor on Visa Waiver Program in June. Our interviewer was very droll and dry... how can you ask "do you plan to practice polygamy in the US?" with a straight face? He asked us about our living arrangements, how the marriage was going, how we met, why I got married after entering as a visitor, how often we kept in touch whilst apart, what our last date was (seriously?), had some questions about jobs and income, and we had to hand over some joint bank statements to show we were living together. He took notes on everything, then told us I was getting a conditional permanent residency. Alright! The interview was rather gruelling, about 20 minutes long, but successful.
