We had our AOS interview August 1, 2007 in the Seattle office. We arrived about half an hour early, and because they were quite busy, waited an extra forty minutes past our scheduled interview time.
The interviewer was nice, but very serious and businesslike. She started off with swearing us both in, and ran through a lot of the yes/no questions from the forms. She then asked how we had met, and took some notes. Probably less that ten minutes of questions, also asking about where we lived etc.
Then she looked through our documents we had brought to show proof of relationship, glancing at a stack of pictures (she enjoyed but didn't seem too important,) copies of mail received either addressed to both of us or just to my wife (seemed important,) dental insurance covering my wife (was important,) and although my wife hadn't been added to my work insurance (too expensive!) noting she was eligible appeared to be important to the interviewer, copy of joint bank... read complete review

He asked to see wedding photos, and joint assets. We had joint bank statements, credit cards, health and dental insurance, car insurance, and lease agreements. No utility bills if you're curious. Then that was it! ... read complete review

Fairly short, painless, but thorough.

It was fairly painless. The letter stated our interview was at 9 am, we arrived at 8:30 and we were in the waiting room by 8:45 am. There were 7 couples ahead of us, by the time our names were called and we left the building it was 9:35 am
