Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Word of advice to the interviewers - Keep the interview professional and dont let your emotions/personal past experiences get in the way of how you view people.

My husband and I had a unexpected, very uncomfortable interview. Conversation started off well, so we thought. She said we had to be wealthy coming into this country, made us feel as we were poor and unworthy. My husband does not make a lot (which is why I have a joint sponsor) But yet she felt the need to target my husband and tell him he needs to pick up his act and find a better job, even move towns if that helps. I submitted my husbands Tax return a couple months ago when I received a RFE. However I did not make a copy of this paper (my fault) and she wanted to see it. I said you must have it because we sure sent it. So i assume they lost it and she said because of this missing paper she would deny me if it was up to her. Very rude of her and thank God she does not have the final decision.

Appointment time 10:30 am...we arrived at 9:45. At 10:27 wife nervous and she needed to use bathroom....of course shortly after she left they called our number...Murphy’s law. I approached the lady to interview us and she said “where is your spouse?” I replied “she needed to use the restroom but I am sure she is running back now” Interviewer said” well she picked a fine time to go at her appointment time” Very rude and that set the tone for the rest of the interview....wife was there within 45 seconds of our number being called.

Next we proceed to follow her down the hallway to her office...she was walking very fast and my wife is short and could not keep up....the lady stopped In The middle of the hallway, never turned around but waited until she heard us catching up then continued to her office. Immediately upon entering she sweared us in...no my wife’s English is pretty good...she is new but has had 18 mo this of English school...but she still needs pe... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My interview was initially booked for the 10th October but on the day I received a call from the office advising the office had closed due to an emergency and my interview will be rescheduled, a week later I received a letter in the post with a new interview date, the 15th November.

Our interview was at 11.45 and we got there for around 11.30. We signed in and waited around 20 minutes for our number to be called. A nice lady greeted us and walks us around to the interview room asked us how we were etc. In the office we were sworn in. She confirmed the information on our forms such as my name my husbands name, DOB, address etc. Then she went through the generic questions like have you committed murder etc. Then she asked how did we get to this point (relationship, marriage, moving) so we told her our story and she laughed and smiled as we told her and she thought it was funny that we met whilst playing GTA on the Xbox 😂. Then she asked my husband where he works if he ... read complete review

This location was packed at around 9:20. Our interview was scheduled for 9:45 and we were called in at 10:00. Our interview officer was a nice man. Very short interview with basic questions:
- full names
- parents names
- place of birth
- where do you work
- spouses full name and birthday
- how we knew each other
- what we loved about one another (I cried when this question came up and I spoke about how loving and patient and caring my husband is for going through this whole process with me)
- a lot of I485 have you ever questions
The officer then asked to see our photos and evidence that we lived together. Asked who was in one group photo and asked who the baby was in another. He asked for joint bank account statements and also took a copy of our updated lease.
He then said he was going to recommend us for approval and pass it onto his supervisor to have the last say.
Outlined how to go about getting condit... read complete review
