Review Topic: Naturalization

On Monday 01/8/18 my husband had his citizenship test/interview in San Bernardino, CA. We arrived approximately 1 hour early so we went to get coffee at a nearby coffee shop and went over the civics questions one more time. When it was 30 minutes before his appointment, we entered the building. We went to airport type security (had us remove shoes, belts and went thru x-ray). The security agents were polite. They directed us to the elevators for the second floor.

On the second floor there is a hospital like lobby (lots of bench chairs) and a sign in reception desk area. The agent at the sign in desk took our appointment letter, time stamped it and asked him to have a seat and wait for his name to be called. The area was clean, semi-quiet with lots of nervous people waiting. I used the restroom which was also well kept. There were at least 20-25 officers (some friendly- laid back looking others more business like)coming out of 4 separate doors, going to the reception de... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Today I had my interview with my husband and we got approved on the spot!
We had our interview at 8:55am in San Bernardino Filed Office, but we got called by around 9:20am.

The officer is a very nice and professional man.
We first took the oath and the officer assigned us the seats.
Then he letted us to show our ID (my husband's passport + driver license, my passport + work permit + driving instruction permit).
I feel like other than identity verification, an another important thing the officer was looking for is our current address on them.

Then He took the picture again for me, I though it should be a very important picture so I just asked him if I can smile, he said yes. And I just gave the camera a big smile.
Then he asked us how we met? is this our first marriage? do we have kids? How long time we were dating each other before marriage?
In the same time he checked carefu... read complete review

Our appointment was at 7:15am at the San Bernardino Field Office CA, we arrived at 6:45 but were let in at around 7.
We went through security (just like at the airport) and then up to the second floor.

They called our name at 7:40, the officer was extremely nice and we followed her to her office. She made me take an oath (not my husband, the USC)
She took my fingerprints again and a picture. Then proceeded to check both our birth certificates, marriage certificate, my passport.
She asked all the yes/no questions from the I-485, verified our address, asked about any children, about whether I was part of any organization, criminal records.
She asked how we met, where our first date was, how my parents felt about the wedding
Then, she asked for evidence of bonafide marriage. We gave her copies of bank statements, health and life insurance, car title and car insurance. She was happy that we had copies of everything but said she could have t... read complete review

My husband's Green card was approved this morning. Here's the run-down of our experience.

Our appointment was at 8:05am and we arrived at 7:30am. On the notice it says not to arrive more than 30 minutes prior to the interview so we waited in the car for about 5 minutes before walking in. First thing you will do is to go through security. Just like at the airport, you have to remove large jewelry (watches, bracelets, etc., rings and earrings are ok to leave on), belts, jackets/coats and shoes. They have notices posted to have photo ID but no one ever checked. Security line was long when we first arrived (a few people outside the building) and it pretty much took about half an hour to get through. When we left (around 9am) there was no line.

We took the elevator to the second floor, deposited our interview notice in the box on the receptionist's desk and waited to be called. The wait was about 15 minutes. We had a pretty nice immigration officer. We took th... read complete review

So finally the interview for AOS from K1 visa happened.

My local office was San Bernadino and I was surprised just how many people were being interviewed. We arrived with a good 30 minutes to spare, but despite there only being 6 or 7 people infront of us, going through security took a good 20 minutes of that time. Standard airport style but some people just slowed the process down for whatever reason.

Up to the second floor and we must have waited around 30 minutes. The interviewer was polite, but definitely serious, quite stern and had no room for small talk. We took the oath and he then asked me (the beneficiary) all the questions on the I-485. He then asked for any documentation we had. I handed over a couple of things (bank statement, phone bill and proof I was my husbands spouse per military ID.

He then asked my husband how we met and about 2 minutes in he told me to put all the paperwork away, took some photocopies of origin... read complete review
