My husband and I arrived early the immigration office downtown. Security suggested we wait at a coffee shop a couple blocks away, as "the waiting room is pretty boring", and come back about a half hour before our appointment. Our appointment was at 1:30 and we arrived again at 12:50. We were glad we went early - there was a line out the door!
After security we checked in at the reception desk and were given a number and told to wait upstairs. The waiting room was completely full. At 1:30 it was announced for everyone waiting for citizenship to go down stairs - the room pretty much cleared out with the exception of maybe 10 people. Directly after a woman came out and called my husbands name and took us back to her office.
We were sworn in and then she began with confirming our names and addresses. The interview flowed really well and felt like more of a conversation than Q&A. The interviewer was friendly and seemed genuinely interested in what we had to say... read complete review

Had my interview today (Portland OR field office). Scheduled for 1:30pm and we reached with all our documentation at 1:10pm. Went through the security check, checked-in and took our seats in the waiting room. There were 3 couples ahead of us, and 2 had attorneys with them. Very casual atmosphere, my wife was on her phone the whole time. Finally, around 1:45pm, the IO called our names apologized for making us wait, and we followed her. She handed us a bunch of the photos we had submitted with our AOS application and complimented us on our wedding.
Once in her office, she told us to raise our hands and read out the oath. We sat down and she asked for our IDs. My wife (USC) gave her DL and I my passport and she noted that down on a piece of paper. She proceeded to confirm our phone #, addresses and our jobs. She asked about how we met (grad school) and She made some jokes and then proceeded to confirm my last entry into the US (as F-1) and went through the list of Yes/N... read complete review

We arrived at the USCIS around 01pm( half hour before our appointment time) after check-in procedures we were told to proceed to the 2nd floor where we should wait on a big waiting room which on this date was super crowded, because it was also happening naturalization ceremony for about 50 people and also some Infopass people.
Well, after a while at exactly 01:40pm, which was 10 minutes after our appointment time we were called by my name by the officer(o be aware and pay attention that you might be called by your name instead of the numbers that they will provide to you at check-in reception desk).
Officer was professional and polite and first asked ours ID and passports. After that he asked all the questions from the I-485 form which I answered "No" to all of them; After that a couple questions about how we met and how was our weeding celebrated, also if my husband has already meet my family, then asked my husband my parents name, he asked if we had some pictures to s... read complete review

Really nice experience again. Interview was nice and the interviewer was friendly. Very straight forward. Only gave her some pictures of our ongoing relationship and some wedding pictures, and some evidence with my name and address on and that was it, she said if she had forgotten anything than she would be in touch but she seemed to think that she had everything. I should have my green card within the next 2 weeks.

Our interview was extremely quick and easy. An officer picked us up in the waiting room just ten minutes or so after we had registered at reception. He was very friendly and the whole interview passed in a relaxed atmosphere.
He took copies of my husbands drivers license and my EAD card, then he took us to his office where my husband and I both had to take an oath. He verified our address and some basic data and asked about the baby that we are expecting in June. Then he went through the standard list of questions about any involvement in unlawful activities which I had already answered in the AOS document. After I had answered all of them with "no" he told us that he had no further questions and that my greencard was approved...and that was it! He did not want to see a single one of the additional supporting documents such as joint accounts, insurances and pictures that we had brought with us. The whole interview took about 10-15 minutes.
