Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

It was super fun and I hope I get the same interviewing officer in 2 years when I return to lift conditions and apply for a 10-year green card!

Our interview took about 20 minutes, the interviewer confirmed my answers on some of the questions on the AoS application, asked about our relationship and how we met. We gave some insurance documents(auto, life), OPPD account summary, some wedding photos and other photos. That's really all that we submitted during the interview. The officer did not give us an approval or rejection and told us to wait for a status change online. Our status changed that evening from "interview is ready to be scheduled" to "new card is being processed".

Something to note, the interview notice required my husband's adopted step-daughter's documents(birth certificate). We also brought her custody papers just in case because her custody recently changed compared to what was decreed in the divorce proceedings. Neither were asked for durin... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We arrived about 15 minutes before our interview time and quickly passed through security after providing the interview notice and IDs. My wife and I were only waiting for about 10 minutes before we were called to the back by the interviewing officer. At first he seemed like it was going to be tough, but once we answered some very basic questions (he just basically asked us questions on the AOS form) things started to get a lot easier. He didn't even look through all of our documents (just my proof of citizenship, my wife's passport, financial documents, and family photos (which he didn't even look through that much)). However, I would still take all the necessary documents to be on the safe side. He also asked us how we met, and soon thereafter we were approved for the Green Card. Overall, very good experience.

Review Topic: Naturalization

I want to start off by saying that the staff at the Omaha office are awesome! They are very polite and always smiling. I had my citizenship interview scheduled for 10:30am. We arrived around 10am and made our way through security. The officer asked for my letter and ID and my husband's ID. They had us walk through the metal detector and then directed us towards the waiting area. There is a box to place your interview letter in and a nice, bright & comfortable waiting area. Right around 10:30 I was called back by officer Burke and taken to an office towards the end of the hallway. She had me place my things on one of the chairs and then raise my hand and swear to tell the truth. She then had me take a seat and asked for my green card, photo ID and most current passport. She then went over my application with me and had me sign in 2 different spots. Next was the English reading and writing test, followed by the civics test. She then congratulated me for passing the tests and ... read complete review
