We went to the new Norfolk, Va USCIS building yesterday for biometrics and it is beautiful. Both Kyle and I were impressed by the new building. We liked how biometrics and interviews are now in the same place. Biometrics take place downstairs and the interviews are upstairs. Looking forward to going back in a month or two for Kyle's naturalization interview.

My interview was scheduled for 11.30. Having driven over 3 hours to get to the office, we got in at 11. After security, we sat down and got called in 10 minutes later.
The lady interviewing us was very nice, clearly knew our file and after checking the DOBs and addresses she asked what documentation we had to prove we're living together. We showed a joint bank statement, a photo album and a couple other little things. She was quite happy with that and explained that the interview process is much simpler for K1 applicants since they have to submit so many documents and have so many different checks before they get to her.
She said she'd recommend me for the GC and we were out at 11.25.
Great experience overall, the only negative being the office location and how remote it is to almost all the locations it serves in Virginia.

My interview at Norfolk, VA went very well.
Until the actual time on the interview sheet, me and my spouse along with everyone else waited outside the building.
Once we got in, we sat in the area for a little bit, but we were the second couple to be called in.
The lady that conducted our interview was very nice, and made us feel comfortable. She went over our applications to check everything was current and spelled correctly.
One issue I had was my Identification Certificate (what they use as Birth Certificate in Korea) was translated as 'Basic Certificate,' because that would be the literal translation from Korean to English, but on her list of documents, they had the Korean pronunciation of the name of document (Gibon Jeungmyungseo) spelled out and I pointed out that the document I had was Gibon Jeungmyungseo, just translated differently. And she was okay with that and just made me write on my translation 'Gibon Jeungmyungseo' und... read complete review

The interview actually happened in September 2010. Apologize for the late update. Our interview was at 9am, and last for about 15 minutes. The officer reviewed the document in the binder and looked through the wedding photos we brought. He did ask to have the photos with the document. We received the green card within two weeks.
