Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Hi all, I wanted to post my interview experience in NY as well. Overall it was great and I got approved the same day, but not at the interview a few hours later.

It was on Wednesday July 27th at 1:45 at Federal Plaza in NY. We didn’t wait much (can’t tell how long because they made us turn off cell phones). The IO was very pleasant and professional. We walked in he swore us in told us to have a seat and asked if he have any additional evidence we want to submit, and if we have pictures he would look at those first, while I am getting the rest of the evidence together. Oh he also asked to see IDs at this point.

I had two albums, a smaller one with photos of our wedding and a larger one with photos since the beginning of our relationship four years ago- holidays, trips, birthdays, everyday hanging out.

He flipped quickly through the photos, by that time I had put a few different folders on his desk, one with cards address to both of us ... read complete review

We had our interview in the New York City office 8/4/11 at 1:45pm. We had to wait about 45 minutes - called at 2:30. After a ~15 minute interview, they told us we'd get an answer within 30 days, which was disconcerting since we were expecting to hear right away! Overall we had a favorable impression from the agent and he didn't ask to see ANY additional documentation. I came prepared with a hyper-organized binder full of evidence of our marriage, all our originals, photo albums, notarized letters from various people, etc. and the only thing the agent wanted to see were our passports. So, I guess that was encouraging that he wasn't suspicious. But, he also asked some tough questions that my husband didn't know - what model car I own (yes, most guys would know this, but my husband is a PhD student in philosophy and it's not his thing!), what kind of car insurance we have (he's on the policy, but he didn't know it was Geico) and what my obstetrician's name is. I'm guessing the agent was m... read complete review

Interview at the Federal Plaza was so easy, me and my wife still think we didn\'t really have an interview. It only lasted around 10 minutes the most.

Interviewer was an Asian guy, he didn't ask me any questions (I'm the applicant), he asked only 4 questions to my wife. Then I no'ed to those basic questions on I485.

so choice of my smiley is

Wanted to share my experience with y'all.

My interview was yesterday 7/28/11 for 9:45am at 26 Federal Plaza and we got there around 915 and waited till about 11am before we were called in. Just as above, we too had an asian officer. Walked us into the room and before we sat down, swore us in. He was kool, talkative and like to make jokes which was great. I am the applicant. He asked us for our ID, BC and Marriage Cert. and passport, which we gave him. Then he asked for joint documents. As I was going thru my bag to gather the docs, he was talking to my wife and would ask her questions pertaining to me, such as my previous address, and how many bro and sis I have, how we met, how long we dated and etc. SO then I gave him joint back accounts, cellphone bills, copy of health care cards, beneficiary designation confirmation letters and that was it. He continued to talk to my wife and asking her simple questions here and there. I dont think he asked me anything about my wife.... read complete review
