Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

They were very professional but polite and friendly.

They kept us waiting for about 40 mins, even though there was no one else in front of us. When we got in the IO seemed to have already made his mind up about approving us, I think that they were spying on us in the waiting room before hand. The IO also had a teeny little tv monitor by his desk too... Hmmmm.

Didn't look over anything we had prepared (and I had prepared A LOT of evidence and information about our marriage and cohabiting stuff), but he took the photocopy of our daughters birth certificate, after we signed a waiver because our attorney wasn't present (we didn't think they were useful there) and they asked me all the questions on the biographic form again. He flicked through his papers and then just said that we had been approved (which we were very happy about!) and he then went on to say about when to expect my PR card etc, how to remove the conditions and about travelling.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Background: I am doing AOS from M1 Visa to Green Card.

Interview:
I arrived at the USCIS office 25 minutes prior to the interview time. Again, just like the Biometrics appointment, going through security was a pleasant experience given the friendliness of the security officer.

We were called in five minutes early for our AOS interview by the Interviewing Officer (IO). As my wife and I entered the IO's office, we remained standing and took an oath. I was asked to surrender all documents that were issued to me by USCIS. Such as EAD, AP, and I-94. I also handed over my Social Sec. Card, Driver's Licence and Passport for Identification.

The interview officer seemed neutral, not friendly nor aggressive. The questions began with the IO asking my wife (US Citizen) biographic questions and compared it to the responses on the G-325A. The questions are comprehensive such as what is our residential address and how long have we lived there, what ... read complete review

Our interview was at 10:40, we were called in at 11:05. The IO was very nice and friendly. It was like having a conversation with a good friend. Asked only basic questions : is this our first marriage? do we have children? how did I come here? how long we have been together? were did we meet? do I work? did my parents come to our wedding?
Did not ask for any bonafide marriage material. I guess it was enought what we sent in. Said everything looked good. Stamped my passport and told us everything about the removal of conditions.
The whole interview lasted about 10 min.
Whooo hoooo....

This is really just an initial review to get our local office on the boards, but I really have to say, "WOW", things move quickly here. We filed for AOS on December 30th and have gone to the office for Biometrics. In less than 3 months from filing, we will also have gone to the first interview (and possibly the only one before getting the green card). This office is small but very warm and professional. We are really happy to live in NH and have such a nice office. You will need to have a translator for the interview if you don't speak English.
