Review Topic: Lifting Conditions

I went to the downtown LA office for an interview for my lifting conditions.

Cheapest close parking was a flat rate $8 parking on E Temple St. around the corner. LA mall is another close parking lot at $2.50 every 20 minutes, up to $16 max.

My appt was on a Monday afternoon. Reading previous reviews, it sounded like security line up is long, but it was about a 10 minute wait for me. Leave your sharps at home, and expect to be xrayed like at an airport. Electronics (cell phones/tablets) are okay but you need to shut them off when you do your appointment with the officer.

I arrived 1 hour early (expecting bad traffic, bad parking and long lines) and it turned going early wasn't in my flavor - they earliest they can check you in at is 15 minutes before your interview. The building is a freaking maze so we thought it was best to just wait in the waiting room.

Security guards were nice and immigration officer was pleasant. Our inte... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My wife and I just completed our AOS interview this morning and I wanted to share our experience.

Our interview was scheduled for 8:15am at the Federal Building in Downtown L.A. We arrived there at roughly 6:40am and the building was still closed, but the line was already fairly long. We waited for about 30 minutes before we were finally let in. Once we got in, we proceeded to the 8th floor and gave our appointment letter to one of the windows, and they asked us to wait for my wife's name to be called.

As we waited in our seats, we took notice of our surroundings. It was still around 7:45am and we noticed there were only about 8-10 people/couples waiting for their names to be called. One of the things we noticed was that more than half of them had an attorney with them. My wife and I were chatting among ourselves and we were joking about some of the questions to be asked - we were in a pretty jolly mood due to excitement and the fact that we had prepared w... read complete review

The interview is very straightforward and the questions were about adding documents (or missing documents) from the application we already sent. I tried to answer one of the questions, but the interviewer wanted my wife to answer (so, that's why it is a 4). The interview was mostly geared towards her than both of us. We were approved on the spot.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We arrived to the office in Chathsworth about a half hour early and parked in the free parking across the road. It's a very clean and nice business park area.

When you walk in, you immediately go through the metal detectors, and if you are there for an info pass or AOS interview, you go to the right. Bathrooms are directly in front of you, and the left room had a group of people waiting for something else.

When you get into the room, you drop your appointment notice into the box on the left of the door, and then you wait. Ugh. And wait some more. Our appointment was for 10:30am, and we did not get called in until 1:15pm.

Once called in, you swear an oath to the flag, then sit down. The officer that was interviewing us was lovely, he said he had not seen a K3 AOS in many many years, and explained that due to the rigorous requirements for a K3 applicant, there is basically nothing left to ask us, since we wouldn't have made it this far if we ... read complete review
