I was given an appointment in Jacksonville even though my local office is Orlando- maybe they're too busy at the moment or something. Who knows. I was one of the first in the office- our appointment was for 8am (on August 1st).
We must have waited about three-quarters of an hour or so (though we arrived the full 45 minutes early). We were taken off to an interview room where a nice man (whose name I've forgotten) treated the whole thing as if it was just a formality- he ran through some standard questions (checking where we lived, dates of birth etc) and asked if I was a terrorist or communist and that was about it. He took my work permit card off me, stamped my passport and told me I'd get the green card in the mail. Though I don't think he called it that. He also said how we have to file the I-751 in two years' time to remove the conditions of the permanent resident card I'll be getting (since we were only recently married you don't get the ten year one immediately). Approved this morning in Jacksonville!
Following a nice 2 and half hour car journey from Tallahassee to make our 7.30am appointment (who the hell would ever set appointments at that time of the morning?) we arrived bleary-eyed at the Jax office with about 10 minutes to spare.
We took a seat in the waiting room, and only waited for around 15 minutes before we were called. I can't remember the guy's name who called us, but he was around 34-35 and looked a little like Clark Kent. (We both commented later that he looked as if his name should be 'Keith' but that's another side issue.)
Anyway, 'Keith' brought us into his office, where we took the oath and then sat down. He quickly put us at ease, and it was hard to fight the feeling that this WAS actually going to be the 'easy' experience that others spoke of! He asked for drivers licenses from both of us, as well as my EAD card, and passport. Then he asked me what Jeneane's birthdate was, and th... read complete review

We just got finished with our AOS interview in Jax. The interview absolutely could not have been simpler. We were supposed to be seen at 9:00 and they came out for us at 9:15. The man introduced himself, asked for our driver's licenses and Paul's passport and told us that he was going to approve us because our file was not deficient in any way. Then he stamped Paul's passport and explained that Paul will get his green card in the mail soon (one week to a month) and gave us paperwork to apply for lifting of conditions on permanent residency in two years. There was a paper that tells us between what dates we can apply for lifting of conditions. He did not ask to look at any of our wedding photos or any of the paperwork that we brought showing that we live together and are married. Absolutely no hassle...praise God!
