Review Topic: Naturalization

My wife passed her Interview yesterday and will be sworn in 7/24 ending our journey.
We sent in our application in March and it took about 5 months till Interview.

Our appointment was for 10:45, we arrived around 10 AM but she was not called till almost 1 PM. The Interview itself lasted about 10 minutes, they asked her 2 simple civic questions and one sentence to read and write the answer to what she had read.

She was asked questions about how we met, how many children we have from prior marriages and they tried to trip her asking her a few times if she had married only to come to America.

The only documents they asked to see were Tax returns for 2014.

Review Topic: Other Experience

Biometrics appointment at the East Hartford office:
Arrived very early as we'd had a lot of snow, so decided to kill a bit of time at the Dunkin around the corner. Turns out the appointment time they give you is just a guide and I waited for an hour and a half after going in - so if you're there early, just go in! Nothing to the actual appointment, literally took fingerprints, got my signature and photo and that was it. Don't ask the staff for any information or assistance, they will only deal with what their job is and be pretty blunt about it. No phones, etc allowed in at all so take a book! Got into a minor argument with the receptionist about my application numbers that could well have been avoided had she not been so blunt and unhelpful about it - when she finally explained it was fine and clear.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

The interview went well,we were questioned together. The officer asked my husband how we met, when did we get married, whats my name and date of birth, whats our address. When did we start living together.Ask about his mo and dad name, occupation and address. Ask if he has kids and name age, address and social security and kid's mothers name. I was then asked about the all the programs and visa i came to the USA on. If i have ever applied for adjustment of status or EAD before, Where did i live before i met my husband, if we have kids together, if im currently working and where did i last work. After the questions ended she handed me a slip saying my case is pending review and i might be called for a second interview or the decision will be in the mail. I figured that why they didn't approve me on spot was because i had just submitted my J1 Visa waiver during the interview so they had to review it before approving my case. So after 4 business days seeing that i did interview Tuesday Ma... read complete review

Review Topic: Employment Authorization

My husband had his biometrics appt originally scheduled for 12/11/13 but, we wanted to see if he could get it done earlier so, we went on 12/4/13. I read on here that some people were able to simply walk into the Hartford office before their appt date and they were successful. When we got to the office it was completely empty. We explained that would be out of town when his original appt was so,we came early as we read online that it was possible to do a walk in.The security officer told us that this information was wrong and that there seems to be some mistakes on the website - he thought that we read it on their website and we did not correct him . The whole process took about 10 min. We had to complete one form and show Bhupi's passport and appointment letter. They took his fingerprints and photographs and we were out the door.If you want to, you can try to go early but, it seems that they are trying to be more strict about this. Good luck everyone!
