Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I had my AOS interview scheduled on 3/12/2013 at 10:00 a.m. The location was 15 minutes away from our house in Littleton. Prior to the interview schedule, I drove past CIS office on my way to the RNJ climbing gym just to do some recon on where the place was. Parking was not a problem because there was a huge parking lot in front of the building.

We made sure to leave the house 1 hour ahead of my appointment schedule. We got there at 9:20, got into the building and showed the guards at the info desk our appointment letter and IDs. There was a line (of about 6 people) ahead of us for the security screening. They made us take off our shoes, watches, belts and everything out of our pockets, was scanned and told to head to the second floor right after. Right out of the elevator in the 2nd floor was the holding room. We handed our appointment letter again to the guard and was told to have a seat. We were called close to 10:30. We watched others that were either ahe... read complete review

Getting there
This USCIS office is right smack in between Denver's busiest highways. Best to get to the area with at least an hour to spare. There are cafes and restaurants a few blocks away to kill time in. Not public transportation-friendly.

Review Topic: Other Experience

This is a review of my walk-in biometrics experience at the Denver USCIS office in East Colfax, Aurora, Colorado.

My husband and I arrived at the Applications Support Center around 8:06. I saw that there were quite a lot of people in line for biometrics and seated at the waiting area, but I gave the guard my papers anyway. She said,"All these people have appointments this morning and you'll have to wait until they are done. Do you want to wait or come back? I said we'll wait. So she took my appointment letter and gestured toward some seats. My husband and I took our seats.

After three minutes, I decided we were better off finishing our other chore in Aurora and coming back. So I spoke with the guard again and explained. I asked for my letter back, and she said, oddly, that I could just leave it there. In my mind, I said "Hells no!" But of course, I said, "Nah, I think I should take it with me."

Husband and I returned at around 9:10. He peeke... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We just had our Interview this past Thrusday at the Centennial,CO location.
We are so pleased with the experience. Our IO was a wonderful lady that made us feel very confortable from the beginning, very laid back and welcoming.
- we did our oath
- then she mentions that I would receive the 10 yr residency since we have been married for over 2 years.
- she said she likes to follow her instincts about the couples and she is usually always right. But, she said "they" don't like that too much here so she will have to ask for some bonafide documents.
- She said since I would get the 10 year residency we would be more scrutinized so she will ask more questions.
- She goes over the I-485 basic info, name, birthdays, parents first names, have I left the country since my entry, and all the NO questions that we are all familiar with.
- after that she asked for the bonafide documents we had. Car loan, lease, 2012 tax returns, pic... read complete review
