Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had two appointments. Mine was at 9.30 and my daughter's at 10.00. Due to traffic we were late and got there at 10 am. When we checked in we were asked why we were late and my hubby told them how ridiculous the traffic was. We sat down and waited what seemed like 30 mins or so (I didn't have my cell phone or watch on my person so I'm guesstimating) before my name was called. The buzzer we had didn't actually buzz. Our IO was professional and polite, not overly friendly but we didn't feel uncomfortable at all. She was with another lady whom I would assume was a trainee officer but I'm not quite sure. We were asked for the usual ids, I-94s and bonafides; Quite a few questions from the I-485; how we met and that was basically it. She went through my file then my daughter's and then said someone else would review the file. We were not given verbal approval and she didn't take my EAD. She didn't even realise that my hubby is not my daughter's biological dad but then again nobody ever rea... read complete review

Our interview was yestoday. It was fast. There was one immig.officer and another persone, she was observing. They took pictures that we have btough, about our marraige, with our friends and relatives. Our bank staitments, Cheked ID.Asked how we met. Look for employment letters, but didn't take them, just quick look. And it was everything. Then he said that he is convinced and I will get my green card in 2 weeks by mail. I wish everyone to have the same easy interview.

Appointment was set for 8:30am. We arrived early - 7:45am and there were only about 10 people in the waiting room. We were buzzed at around 8:10am. And were on our way back home by 8:30. We were sworn in, asked to present IDs for both of us and my social plus my visa, passport and I-94. She asked on what occasions I had entered the US with my tourist visa. The officer went through the application with a red pen, asking us our names, DOB, parents info, etc while checking it off on our file. Plus went through both our birth certificates. Asked my husband where he worked and confirmed that the co-sponsor was his sister.

She asked about my employment history since I had listed self-employed. She asked if I was currently employed and asked me to add the info of my current job (which I started 2 weeks ago).

At one point we both signed the back of a white piece of paper, dated it and gave our day time phone number - she said it was to prove that we had appeared ... read complete review
