Arrived for interview 40 minutes early, submitted our letter stating the date and time of the appointment and were told to sit down and wait for our turn. After waiting for only 5 minutes we were called back. The officer was very friendly and took us back to the interview room where we were immediately sworn in. We showed him our passports and sat down. We were asked the following questions:
-how and when did you meet? did it turn out well?
-did you have a civil ceremony or private ceremony? (civil)
-who was at the ceremony? how many people were there? (us and our parents, 6 people)
-what did you do after your ceremony to celebrate?
-asked what the sponsors job is
We were then asked if we brought any additional evidence of our marriage, we showed our joint car/health/bank account/credit card and a photo album of us over the past 4 years. He asked if we enjoyed traveling where one of the photos was taken. He then told us he would approve our ca... read complete review

We got to our 2:45 pm interview at 2:15 and went through security. We were told to go to window four and the gentleman there told us to go to the second floor and sign in and wait for our names to be called. There was 3 other people waiting in front of us. We waited about 30-40 minutes and then were called in. The gentleman was very nice and we sat down in his office and he went over our address and birthdays and took garnette's I-94. He asked garnette how did we meet. And then asked me where did we marry and who was there. He then asked for us to submit proof of marriage so we gave him our joint checking account information, credit card, gym membership and cell phone bill. He asked about our lease and asked why garnette was not on it and I said it was because he did not have a job at the time. He say that is fine and went and copied some of our pictures. He said our case looks approvable and we should be getting the green card in the mail 5-10 business days.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I had my AOS interview on June 13th in Buffalo, NY. It was a very pleasant experience, the officer was very friendly and even had a very non-american sounding accent. There was another person in the back with a pen and pad writing something during our interview. He made us swear an oath, after which he verified some information on the forms. After that he asked some questions like "Where did you meet?", "Who proposed to whom?", "what was the ceremony like?". I showed him some photos from the ceremony and from before of my wife and I, and our families. Then he asked for some evidence of common property etc - we showed him our car title and bank statement with both our names on them. After that he told us that I am "approvable," which meant that I would know the decision by the end of the day and that I can expect the card in the mail in 3-10 days. He then went and copied the photos and documents I had showed him, returned, and that was it. All in all, a very relaxed experience. Two hour... read complete review

The interview went VERY smoothly for us.

First, the IO asked us to confirm most of the information that we put on our original I-485 application. My wife had a citation for trespassing which was dismissed, so he asked to see an official court document.

After confirming everything on our original form he asked to see pictures that we had brought. We came in with 8 or so pics from our lives together and the wedding picture album. After he looked at them he made copies and asked if we had anything else to prove a bonafide marriage. I gave him:
Joint tax returns
Car Insurance
Life Insurance
Family Talk Plan (Cell phone)
Two credit cards of mine which she is on

The IO looked at all of the things we gave him and said "Your marriage is definitely bonafide, I am going to approve you. You should recieve your green card within 2-3 weeks."

Overall this process took less than 8 minutes. We spent more tim... read complete review
