Interview date: 13 June
Green card delivered: 19 June
Amazing experience. We were both in the office at the same time for the interview, not separated. The officer asked us to swear that we're telling the truth. The interview itself was lighthearted.
Questions (either asked to me or him):
1. Why are the two of you in Boston?
2. What's your husband's mother's name? What does she do?
3. What's your husband's father's name? What does he do?
4. What's your husband's brother's name? What does he do?
5. What's your husband's sister's name?
6. Where does your wife work?
7. How many times has she been married?
8. Have you voted while in the US?
9. Have you committed genocide, so on so forth...? (The officer was a little jokey in the way he asked some of these questions, which almost made me laugh, I gotta say! But thankfully, I kept a straight face and answered without cracking up.) ... read complete review

We arrived at the JFK Federal Building a half hour before our appointment time. We were directed to a window to hand in the Appointment Notice, and the gentleman at the window said someone would be with us fairly soon. At exactly our appointment time (11:45 AM), the same gentleman as before ("Officer Dana") called out my name (the petitioner), and took both us to his office, together. When I asked if my husband should come with me (because I had read that often they interview the couple separately) he just joked, "If he's the husband, then yes!"
We were both put under oath, and my fingerprints and photo were taken. Officer Dana asked me how I met my husband, and then just asked us if we were happy and "how it's going." I told him I was happy, and that we loved our little apartment in the North End, our jobs, our friends, and each other. Then we spoke a bit about rent (he was moving soon and wanted to compare experiences) and he remarked that I spoke English perfectly. H... read complete review

Interviewer was friendly, but had an accent to his English which made is harder for the wife to understand. He was a little concerned that I didn't have utility bills or something which both our names on it; fortunately I did have her name as an authorized user on a credit card, which he took. We weren't asked any questions about our home life, nothing to verify we were really together, just silly questions like "Do you plan to practice polygamy in the US", "Have you been a member of the communist party", "Do you plan to engage in prostitution". I had to translate the questions for the wife, who's English is OK but doesn't know words like "Communist", "Polygamy" and "Prostitution", which was somewhat humorous. We left with a not-so-good feeling, I was expecting to get a request for more documents, but our approval came 3 days later.

My AOS from a K1 fiancé visa interview was at the newer field office in Lawrence, MA (It is not listed on the drop down menu)
Interview: 30th April 2019
Me & my husband checked in at the reception just after 2pm, friendly receptionist, she took my interview letter & stamped it with a ticket number, we was told to go sit in the big waiting room & wait for my name to be called.
Around 40 minutes passed & my name was called, I walked over to the officer & she said just me to come through, my husband had to wait in the waiting room.
Went into her office, before I sat down I took the oath. She then began to ask me to confirm name, date of birth & asked for my passport.
She took my left & right index finger prints & a photo (god I must look awful on the photo as the camera was low & pointing upwards, nice double chin mugshot I bet LOL)
Then we went through my I-485 application, asking me all the no ... read complete review

I thought it went pretty well overall!
Getting there: We took the Orange Line to State. Our interview was at 8:15am, and we got to security at 8. They let us bring our coffee in, and didn't care about our cell phones either. We entered the Cambridge St. public entrance, but later learned there's a public entrance that faces Boston City Hall (closer to Congress St) that puts you right beside the immigration offices. It didn't really matter. The signs are very clear, and we got to the waiting area no problem. They took the first page of our interview notice (you do not get this back) and told us to wait to be called. (Side note: if you will need to fill out an interpreter form, bring a pen. The woman at the front desk refused to give one out to anyone). Some people suggested sitting close to reception so you can hear your name, but they circled the whole room announcing the name, so don't stress about it. We didn't have to wait very long either.
The intervie... read complete review
