We were summoned for an interview for my husband's AOS (from K-1 visa). We'd spent quite a bit of time gathering all the documentation listed on the appointment letter, but the only things the officer asked to see were our IDs (passport, EAD, and driver's license for him; just driver's license for me). When I offered a notarized copy of our marriage license (as specified on the appointment letter), she said "we don't require certified copies anymore."
The agent explained to my husband that because of a mix-up with his name, two files had been created for him, so she didn't have the K-1 paperwork in front of her and would need to request it, which would cause a delay. He said that he wants to change his name, and she said that if he could get that done within the next month, she could get the new name put on his green card--otherwise he would need to get a new green card with the new name. Then she went over his AOS forms and confirmed the answers with him. I never reall... read complete review

Interview was quick. Officer noted my military record and commented on how much proof of relationship we brought with us. (Hubby said I over did it but too much is always better than not enough). I was asked why i would leave Canada to come to the US.

Interview went pretty well. The officer was young and really nice. He asked us how we met and said it was ok for both of us to talk. Then, he asked if I had anything else for him and I gave him bank statements, health insurance cards, receipt of a big trip we did back in 2009. He also asked my husband my full name and DOB and the same question for me about him. Finally he asked my parents name and those "NO" questions. He told was it looked good to him but he needed his supervisor to check our file to make sure everything was good. He said it could take up to 30 days for me to get NOA 2 for I-130 and I-485 and up to 90 days to get my Green Card in case I was approved even though most of the time it takes only 2-3 weeks. I checked USCIS website the day after my interview and I-130 was approved and NOA2 in the mail. I-485 also approved on 09/17 and they mailed me a welcome letter! SO HAPPY!!!!
