Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

This was a very easy and laid-back experience. Went in at 11:40, was asked to the interview room at 12:15. IO made it clear in the beginning that we have to go through the interview process simply, because they occasionally have people using fraudulent marriage to enter the country.

Then he asked us to tell about our relationship shortly without going into too much details. After that he asked us to give all the proofs we got that we are together, like wedding pictures, credit cards, bank statements, leases etc. He took a copy of them and came back in a few minutes.

After that he said that he believes that we are in a bona fide marriage and we just need to go over the papers to make sure all the info was correct. This took about half hour.

After that he proceeded to explain that I could apply for a citizenship in 3 years and that I have to keep my green card with me at all times. He also said that when I come to the country from abroad, I ha... read complete review

Interview experience ( adjustment of status from B2 visa)

I will try my best to write as detail as possible and i hope this can help other memebers.

Came to USA with a B2 visa. I-94 expired on Mar 17, 2010 but only filed for AOS on Nov 8 , 2010.

Both me and my husband wear smartly (as if we are going for job interview)
Interview appointment: 9.15 am on Feb 14, 2010

Reach Albany office at 8.50am. Going through security check with no problems. Cellphones are not allow. They are super strict with this.

We hand over the bag of our documents/evidences with the interview letter to the security guard. By 9am we were seated at the waiting area.

We were call in by the IO at 9.45am. He is tall and very smart looking. We got into his room and was reunited with our bags of documents. We were told to raised our right hand and sworn in.

We were seated right in front of him. IO explained ... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

So we drove 3 hours to the interview that was for 11am we waited an hour and 1/2 after 11 to be interviewed. Once we got in the room and were reunited with our HUGE box of evidence (they took it at the door) the lady said "Ok show me whatever you are going to show me" I thought "great she's gonna be trouble" and started shaking and drew a blank about what to show her. Once I pulled out our joint bank statements, joint savings account, some envelopes etc and handed them to her I pointed to our 2 photo albums (Over 500 pics) and said "well we have a couple of pictures if you want to look" she giggled and become quite relaxed and joked back with us. She asked mostly questions about our forms (verified address, birthdates, parents names, place of birth for me and my wife, all the info we filled out on our forms). She did ask how we met and what our process was like to get to the interview today. She flipped through our photo albums asking questions as she went like "who is this?" "Wha... read complete review

Interview was with both of us in a small office with two DHS agents. They swore us in, then asked questions basically verifying information that was already submitted. They did NOT have the medical from Moscow so they said we needed to wait. Then we showed a copy of vaccination records and they said that was the main thing they needed. A few questions about my work and income, then approved the application. Said green card will arrive in two weeks.
