Our interview was on November 11, 2009. We arrived at around 7am but didn't get in line until about 7:30am. He finally got ushered into the consulate at about 8am and I walked over to the coffee shop across the street to wait. Abdou said the first thing that they asked for was the visa application fee, his passport and the 2 pictures. He said they checked something online and then asked for all of the required forms. He was told to go sit and wait for his name to be called. He sat until about 11:30am when a Moroccan man called his name to come to a window. He asked if he spoke english and asked for his medical envelope. Everything checked out medically. Woohoo! They then told him that he forgot the DS 157 form. He gave Abdou a form and told him to fill it out and bring it back later and to go sit and wait to hear his name again.

At about 12pm He was called to talk to a Blonde American man. Abdou said that he was nice and very respectful. He asked if he spoke English and... read complete review

11/14/09 UPDATE:

The Consulate had asked us to fax a copy of the affidavit of support signed by my parents but their fax machine was apparently not working, so my father and I both e-mailed it to them...No response for a few days so I had my fiance call the Consulate. After redirecting him to six different offices / phone numbers, they finally told him that the I-134 affidavit was not the right form, they wanted the I-864. Of course, my fiance had noooo clue what the difference between the two was, so he just assumed they were right and was extremely upset with me over having the wrong form. This made me angry because they were just pulling him around on a wild goose chase, so I called them up myself...All I have to say is that I'm very glad that I was in Morocco and did not have to spend $1.25 / minute to haggle with them. I ended up speaking with the same man that spoke to my fiance, as he said "I think your husband just called and I told him that you need a diffe... read complete review

My fiance entered his interview at the American Consulate in Casablanca on November 6. We arrived at 630 am and he went into the embassy at 7:45 am while a friend and myself waited at the cafe across from the consulate. My fiance was very well prepared with everything in seperate files from our emails, financial support proof, forms needed for the interview, and he also had all of our chat logs in very neat binders and almost 200 pics with explanations under each picture. His interview was only 10 minutes long and he passed. He came back out of the consulate running with the biggest smile at 9:30 am the entire process lasted 1 hr and 45 minutes.

The original date was set for November 2 but when I reached Morocco and driving home from the airport my fiance received a call from the embassy that his interview date was changed to Friday the 6th. I was to leave on the 5th. I rearranged my schedule and was able to stay until Sunday the 8th. My fiance said the the man th... read complete review

Fiance said interview went well. He did not wait long and it took just 15 minutes compared to others apparantly who took much longer.

He had an American man, with whom he spoke English. Fiance showed him the relatively little evidence that we had... a few pictures of our visit together, and some emails we printed out. I guess fiance was a little intimidated that everyone around him had HUGE piles of evidence etc. but in the end it proved to be enough.

Fiance was asked questions such as how my parents met (since they too, are Moroccan-dad-and american-mom). He knew the story well of course and ofcourse those were the days before the internet! He was also asked things like what I did for a living, and what my parents did.

The interviewer also asked why we didn't marry in Morocco the last time I visited, since I am a native Moroccan and have my residency there. My fiance explained that we had been missing some forms lad... read complete review
