I had my interview yesterday, and since I found the reviews on this forum very helpful, I thought I would add a few thoughts, in case they might help other filers.
Since I was coming from the Scottish highlands, I flew down the day before (I did this for the medical too, and was glad I did, as flights were quite severely delayed), it made this experience a bit easier, as I'd already done the journey and stayed in the same hotel, so knew what to expect (expensive business though!).
The embassy is very easy to find and is only 5 minutes walk from Vauxhall bus and tube station. The entry to the visa processing is round the back of the building. My appointment was at 11am, I arrived very early so went for a wander and saw lots of other nervous looking people clutching files and paperwork... there is a coffee shop right beside the visa entry place if you go round the back of the building (it's not immediately visible from the front). It was raining, so I went to security ear... read complete review

Prepare for a very long review lol. All good news, I appreciated reading other peoples reviews leading up to my interview, so thought I'd give a detailed one myself. When people say not to be nervous about the interview they are correct. Had my interview Monday at 10:30am. I got to the embassy at 10 and was asked for my DS-160 and then was allowed straight through to the airport like security. After this I walked straight up to the doors where there was one huge queue for visas and then one empty queue for american citizens. It was about 10:15 and the visa queue I was in wasnt going down and I remembered how some people said that k1 applicants can go straight through to the desks. So I asked a lady who worked there what to do and she said to go through the american citizen line and wait at the desk. I was seen straight away, the lady took my DS-160 again and popped a number on it and then told me to take the lift to floor 1, turn left and then left again. When I got to the waiting room... read complete review

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were able to go to the interview together which helped calm our nerves, but it's still a nerve wracking experience so it was really nice to have consular agents that were really nice and patient with us. Everything was so much easier than we expected. Of course there was some waiting in line and then waiting for the interview but that was to be expected. Overall, it was an easy process made easier by courteous staff.

So all of the horror stories online are scaremongering tactics.

I had my interview today and I had literally nothing to be nervous about.

I went and I was an hour early so I grabbed a coffee to calm my nerves. I went back at the time I was told to return and I bypassed the not so long queue (my interview was at 11.30, so I guess this wasn’t peak time).

I was so nervous I hadn’t realised my number was already up at the booth and I has to go to the bathroom to throw up. I calmed myself down and went ahead to the booth. The lady who served me was really nice, demure. She took my paperwork asked me a few questions and then told me my paperwork was fine and to wait for my number to be called again for my interview.

I would say I waited probably no longer than an hour to be seen by the interviewing officer. She was a bubbly, bright spirited soul. She had a good energy. She asked me to swear on oath that all I told h... read complete review
