Dreary weather for the trip form Swindon to London on the train , appointment is scheduled for 10:30am so let the morning London rush past (or so i thought !!) and caught the 08:00am train. Not croweded so feeling relaxed..got into paddington and head off to the tube * note Marble Arch is definetly the closest station (ok so much for the rush being over tube stations were 15 peeps deep could have done with a wee japanese chappie to shove us on with cattle prod!!)
Arrive at Marble Arch in good time with ribcage just in tact clutching document bag. * Note if you use this tube station take the "park street" exit turning left then right and follow Park street all the way down until it intersects Upper Grovesnor street turn left and you will see the embassy (cant miss the guys with guns all around it)
Time was now about 09:30 and i could see the queueing ahead, polite chap in flourescent jacket is organising the ever building queue 10:00 am only on left ha... read complete review

A CLASS ACT! I am writing this on behalf of "my faithful little Englishman," but I was there to witness it myself. I was very pleased that the US Embassy let me accompany him through the interview process, and all I had to do was present my US passport upon entry. The process itself is very orderly ("Please take a number and have a seat"), and the constant feedback from the electronic display, showing which numbers were getting service, was very comforting. We were first called up to surrender our required documents (birth certificate, police report, divorce papers, I134) and then returned to our seats in the waiting room. Shortly after, we were called up again for the interview. The interviewer was very warm and smiled often. She acknowledged my presence and graciously requested that I remain silent during the interview. She asked my fiance details about how we met, when, and how often, and then it was over. Even the courier service for the delivery of the visa was about as wa... read complete review

Very easy, felt more like a friendly chat. I was in and out in under 45 mins.
Waiting room is very hot and crowded.
The map for the embassy for those of you who dont know London is not drawn to scale and numerous streets aren't marked. It is a long walk from OXford Circus took us over an hour to find it! OUr file was stamped approved when we got there, no further evidence was asked for just our documents and visa pics

My appointment time was 0930, but it seemed they were already behind by then, since I did not go in until 1015.
Once in, I only had to wait about 20 mins until seeing the first person. (I was number 11)
The man was very nice and only asked for my documents, no questions about my fiance or our relationship.
Then I had to wait about 2 hours for the actual interview. It seemed that there was only one window dealing with immigrant visas, (taking about 15 mins per person) and all the rest were dealing with non-immigrant visas.
That was pretty frustrating!!!
Anyway, once I was called up, the lady was really nice. She asked me how we met and when did we decide that we wanted to get married. Then she told me to hold up my hand and repeat after her. (I think I had to swear that all of the information I had given was correct)
Then I was free to go.
This was the 3rd time I had been to the embassy, (have had other visas to the US before). They... read complete review
