31st Jan. I arrived at 9.20am for my interview at 10.30am. I had planned to go for a coffe once I knew the location of the embassy, however a woman with a clip board told me it was not busy so it would be ok for me to go in. I showed my passport and appt letter to another guy and then proceeded to go into the embassy, but first there are security checks. I handed over my mobile phone and sadly had to throw away a new bottle of expensive perfume I had bought the week before, interestly I was able to take the perfume in my hand luggage.
Once inside the embassy I was handed a ticket with a number on it, the ticket also told me I was an immigrant. I sat down in a room that reminded me of a huge bank and waited for about 30 minutes before my number was called. I went to the booth and handed over my required documents. My fiance had already sent in I-134 which they had received. I had fingers prints taken paid $100 and then was told to sit down again and wait for my number to be calle... read complete review

Well yesterday was the day I've been waiting for for over 3 years. I finally had my interview at the London Embassy.
I stayed overnight in London but was way too stressed to sleep so spent the night reading in my hotel room. I read through every document I had in my folder at least 5 times.
Walking from the hotel to the Embassy was easy thanks to britty who posted directions in the UK forum.
My interview was for 9.30 and I got there about 8.45 and apart from confusion when the lady with the clipboard asked to see my 156 had no problem. I was inside the Embassy with my number in hand by 8.55.
It wasn't long before I was called to the window to sign a couple of forms, hand over my adoption certificate and my photographs. The man I spoke to had to go away and ask what to do as I hadn't given my name before I was adopted, and have no record of my place of birth other than the name of the country. He came back to say this is fine for now but may pose a problem wh... read complete review

Interview was scheduled for 10am. Arrived at 9.30 and had to wait for about 75 minutes outside - not a problem, but a bit cold.
Inside, waited for maybe 15 mins, then called to go through document check and pay processing charge. No problems, very perfunctory.
Waited for maybe 15 mins, then called to interview. A few questions about factual detail of our relationship (where did you meet?, etc), a few questions about our engagement (did she cry?, etc). No problems, was then told the visa was approved.
All very painless.

I found the process reassuringly straightforward and was probably helped by having my fiancée with me on the day.
Our interview was scheduled for 09:10 but, anxious not to be late, we turned up at just after 08:00. Because the Embassy advised not to turn up in excess of 30 minutes before your interview time we thought we would have to wait around, but the woman with a clipboard outside the Embassy kindly allowed us to proceed through security. We were in the large, bright waiting area by around 08:15 and were number three in the queue for Immigrant Visa interviews. After about 30 minutes I was called up to a window where a man asked for my passport, certificates and all of my documents, with the copies, which he took away. He then asked me to pay the processing fee at another window (I had brought the $100 in USD, but they also accept payment in GBP).
I returned to the waiting area for about 30 minutes and was called up again for my interview. I had been expecting a ‘s... read complete review

I stayed at the Gloucester Place hotel – 12 minutes walk from the embassy (I timed it ) Not bad, room could have done with a bit of a Hoover, but it was at the back of the hotel and on the 4th floor, so very quiet. Breakfast was OK, nothing fancy but I wasn’t too hungry before the interview anyway.
I arrived at the embassy at about 10 to 10, with my interview being at half 10. I wandered up to the front of the two queues that had begun to form and as I approached a lady with a clipboard asked if I needed any help. She directed me to the queue on the right hand side, alongside the first set of fencing (actually more like a low crowd control barrier). A sign at the front of the queue says “Visas” but it’s hard to see when the queue is already there.
A 2nd queue which was parallel to the 1st one a few metres away (and in the shade of the sun for those at the front, lucky people! ) seemed to be people who had a 10am appointment. As the queue formed... read complete review
