After looking at the directions that had been given in Packet IV, we (My mum, sister, and I) made our way round to the Embassy. Mum kept wanting to ask people directions, but she ended up persevering with our course which led straight to it. We walked round the diversion signs (they are doing some works outside the embassy itself) and through Grosvenor Park. We could see there was already a queue for the earlier interviews as it was 9am already.
Taking the time to sit in the park for 10 minutes was something that we all appreciated. We talked about what happens if things go well, what happens if they don't, and a myriad of other topics were brushed on.
Decided to take my chance and join the queue at about 9:10. There I was, two great big folders under my arm, my passport and letter in the other hand. Waved them off and with my stomach churning headed to the first person in a bright yellow jacket. They checked my name off a list and asked me to join... read complete review

Apart from a lot of waiting everything went smoothly ... waiting outside gets tedious but is inevitable given the number of ppl. Once insite you get a sticker with a number on it and take a seat in a big hall, once you number is calle dout by a computer you visit a desk, pay, then hand over birth cert, police cert and i134/evidence of support. Fingerprints get taken and then you have to sit down again. When next called up you have raise your right hand and swear that you will marrth the person you have named, like here is any question I want anything else, then you get asked a few dull questions like where did you meet?, what does your fiance do? How old is your fiance? After that there is a queue for the SMS courier desk, pay for that and you are all done, nice and painless.

My husband's interview review in his own words:
I attended the US embassy in London yesterday (May 4th) and was given approval for my immigrant visa, the staff inside were ideal, efficient fast and had a sense of humor, the total process took around two hours from the time I entered the building and obtained by number. This is by no means lightning fast, but I had been prepared to dig in for 5+ hours.
A few things of note, the security detail are incredibly slow, so definately start queuing at least 45 mins to one hour before hand, do a walkpast first thing in the AM if its busy already I would say queue before that, I only managed to get there half hour before hand due to some unforseen bowel rumblings which resulted in me sprinting from London victoria, so if you saw a very angry man running through london in a pair if combat boots, black shirt and trousers, that was me. This resulted in me being stuck in security until 1130hrs an hour after my interview... read complete review

Well - the interview was at 10.30 and I arrived in the area really early so I just wondered around Oxford Street and tried some clothes on in the stores! LOL! Before I knew it, it was 09:50 and I didnt know where the embassy was so I rushed with my map and finally found it. I joined the line, only to find I was in the wrong one! There were hundreds of people who were with camp america going to get there visa! Once I figured out I was wrong I said through. The took my phone and IPod off me and I walked around the huge building and entered. Once inside I was given a ticket and told that I'll be seen at window one. I walked into the waiting area (It's pretty big) and just sat down and waited. I didnt wait that long for my number to be called so I strolled up to window one and was greeted by an english man behind a screen! He asked for my birth cert, divorce cert, police cert, 2 passport photos and the I-134, which I handed to him. He then asked me to sign a few things and gave me a slip t... read complete review

Tom and I got to the embassy at 7:30 AM and our appointment was 8 AM. We stood in line until about 7:45, at which time we had to go through security. We both had backpacks and Tom had his big camera. We had to leave our mobiles and camera at security and they gave us a number slip to go and get the stuff when we were finished.
We were give a number and asked to sit and wait for it to be called. at 7:50 AM, our number was called. We went to the window and a man, named Keith, asked us for all the documentation we were required to give and stated in packet three. He also took Tom's fingerprints. He looked everything over and told us to sit back down. He also had Tom pay the $100 visa amount. This took about 10 minutes. We then sat back down in the big waiting room and waited for 45 minutes until our number was called. We went to the window and they checked Tom's fingerprints again to verify he was Tom. A very nice woman asked Tom how long we had been married, whe... read complete review
