Got there 9am, queued untill about 10pm where i passed through security.
The waiting room is like an airport terminal crossed with an Argos. You get given a number and watch your number approach the "its time to do something column" where you get called to a Post Office style window.
I got called at 11.30 to submit my police and birth certificate, submit finger prints and answer a couple of questions about travel dates and such.
Afterwards, I went back to the waiting room to wait for part two.
Part 2 came about 2.30pm! I was so tired and anxious at this point, I felt ill, my interview didnt go so well, but i think the wealth of evidence we had meant the officer sensed i was more nervous than mentally impaired/intoxicated/drugged/not in a real relationship as i got a couple of "simple" questions wrong!
Overall, I think i just got a really busy day and it was a bit of a nightmare, I left about 6 hours after ini... read complete review

I'm reviewing for my fiance who interviewd July 3. He said the line into the building went fairly quickly, though there were several checkpoints along the way to ensure those in line needed to be there. The last lady to check his interview letter even said he smelled nice... Hmmm Anywho, they took his forms, he missed filling in one section, so he had to complete that. At the actual interview bit, the guy didn;t ask any questions, just said "tell me about your fiance". Paul said it was no problem and everyone was very friendly and kept joking around with him.

Our Visa Interview was super easy. Everyone was very friendly. They only glanced over the paperwork, half of what we took we didn't need. They did ask quite a few questions, but the lady asking was very nice and the questions were easy to answer. It was all over and done with far faster then I thought. I paid extra to guarantee my visa delivery before 8am, so I could get it before work. But even that was fast, my interview was Thursday the 21st and I had my visa at 7:30 am on Saturday the 23rd. All was just generally easy and pleasant.

The interview was at 8.30am on 19 June. We got to the Embassy at around 7.20am, and there were about 15 people in front of us. A queue quickly formed behind us so I was glad we arrived so early. We were absolutely fascinated by the group of about 6 "businessmen" in extremely dodgy suits that were last in style around 1979 (and I'm being generous that they were EVER in style) and truly horrific shoes. They provided us with the opportunity for a lot of speculation as to how six men of various ages could all have similarly bad taste, and this made the time pass quickly! I peeked at other people's paperwork they were clutching and it looked like most of the people were there for work and student visas.
The marshal arrived at 7.30 and started shepherding us into queues for the security hut. We were pretty much at the hut by 7.50, but were held up by one of the Bad Taste Brigade who it took 8 minutes to inspect -- according to a security guard I overheard, he had a laptop, Ipo... read complete review

I arrived at the embassy around 10am for a 10.30am appointment. Queued for half an hour to get in, showed my passport and interview letter to anyone who asked, handed over my mobile/ipod/carkeys at security, showed my interview letter again, took a number, then waited inside. There were hundreds of people there but it was pretty well organised. They sell drinks and food there by the way. The tea was nearly drinkable...
When I was finally called to a window the first stage was to hand over the various documents to a lady with a quite dificult-to-understand accent. Friendly though. Anyway I gave her:
DS-230 part 2
my birth certificate and a copy
one photo
police certificate thingy and copy
I-864
copy of husband's latest tax return - they didn't want transcripts and they didn't want W-2s as he'd only worked in the UK
information on using our house as an asset - I had...
letter from estate agent confirming offer... read complete review
