1st of all.... I'M APPROVED!
Now the review.......
Arrived at Victoria Station 7am. Tube to Bond St. I was inline outside the embassy at 7:20am. Thank God it was a beautiful British day... RAINY! Luckily i was one of the first few in line. A security lady checked my interview letter and told me to go down the 8am line. At the end of this line, there was a guy who checked my passport and made sure it matched with what he had in his little file. Then i went through a security hut and put my bag through an airport style scanner machine thingy, handed in my phone, and continued round the corner and went into the embassy.
Once inside the main doors, the receptionist lady gave me the magic ticket! (5001.. all immigrants are in the 5000's), non-immigrants are 1000's) I went up the stairs into the waiting room.
I sat down and the wait began (about 7:45).
No one was called up to any window before 8am. As soon as it turned 8:00 ... read complete review

Here was our day... we got to the embassy about 8.35 for our 9am appointment. There are signs that ask for you to get your appointment letter and passports ready, and also to get any electronic stuff ready to show. The first lady I saw asked for the letter and passports, gave me a clear bag for my mobile to go in, told me to put my watch in my bag and asked me to wait in the 9am queue. There were still a few people in the 8.30 lane to go in, and about 10 people before me in our lane, although I noticed a lot of people were in groups, not all individual applicants. Just before we got to the security check (a white portacabin), another person wanted to see the letter and the passports again, and checked us off a list. In security, I had to hand over my phone and they gave me a number to reclaim it after the interview had finished. My bag was placed through an x-ray machine and we went through the scanner. My daughter set the beepers off, and they asked to check the bottom of her boots, a... read complete review

My Interview
January 14th 2008.
I arrived at Waterloo station at 08:15am and jumped in a cab to Grosvenor Square (this cost just under £10 but well worth it to avoid the tubes at that time in the morning). I arrived at the Embassy at 08:30am. My Interview was at 09:30am so as I was early, my friend and I decided to check out the area. Directly opposite the entrance area to the Embassy is a small street and we found a ‘Starbucks’ a couple of blocks down. After using their loo! , I arranged to meet her there after I finished and then made my way back to the Embassy.
I joined the queue and went through a security post, who asked for my letter. She asked if I had any electronics or metal items, I had my mobile phone and she asked me to switch it off and gave me a plastic bag to put it in. It was 08:45am and there were only 2 lines, one for 08:30 and one for 09:00. She told me to join the 09:00 line. I went into a portacabin, they put my bags (handbag and a bag w... read complete review

We applied for an IR1/CR1 Visa by DCF. My wife is the USC and I am a UKC. My interview was on Jan 4th 2008, scheduled at 8am.
We arrived a little before 7.30am, where there were only 4 people ahead of us in the queue. After a short wait, an embassy official came to the front of the queue and cheerfully said good morning and called the first person forward. Bearing in mind how cold, how early and how soon after new year it was, I was impressed by the cheer! She looked at mine and my wifes passports and the appt letter and told us which line to go down. We were immediately called into the security hut, where they scanned our bags. Again they were very cheery. We then walked in through the main doors and showed our letter to the reception desk. I was given a ticket with the number 5001 on it and was told to look out for the number on the display. We went in and took a seat. After about 20min, we were called to a window, where again we were greeted by anot... read complete review
