Quick and easy...wanted to show them all the stuff we had been collecting over the last many monthes...but they didn't want to see it (OK- cant complain)! However they said we'd recieve our visa in 5 days, so we booked a ticket home on the 7th day- it took I think 11 days and lots of money to change the ticket. They said there was nothing they could do to speed it up or let us know when it was going to arrive.

Thank God, I got through this whole visa process!
My interview was at 8am, I got to the Embassy about 7:45.
I was 3rd in line, and after about half an hour I handed in all my documents, I was so amazingly nervous, as i thought I was going to be denied, due to a caution I got 4 years ago, for theft. When I was eventually called for my interview, I was kind of all over the place, the officer told, me that it did not matter about my arrest. The fuss seemed mostly to do with Tax returns, I submitted a joint sponsor, at that moment. However we had a lawyer file the i864, and he calculated her yearly income, to more then what was actually reflected on the tax return by almost $10,000 My husband asked me to cross it out, but I was so nervous i forgot. Anyway he approved it all. I got a text message to say my us embassy package will be delievered tomorow, however Im worried, that they may have discovered my error, and denied me, and just sent my passport, as it seems so fast. Fiance went to the American Consulate in London at 9 a.m. on the date of the interview and everything appeared to go without a hitch at first. He was called to the counter at 9:15 a.m. and was asked a few questions about why we decided to move to America instead of the United Kingdom, how we met, very minor stuff. Officer asked to see the I-134 Affidavit of Support and barely glanced at it and didn't even want to see co-sponsor documents.
Then he asked for the police certificate and my fiance produced one; however they had just started taking a new police certification as of "two days ago." We were not given any notice of this policy change before our interview. Therefore, our case was suspended "pending missing documentation." As a result, we had to pay an additional $200 in courier fees and police certificate requests and are still waiting for our visa to arrive. This was needless bureaucracy and we would have appreciated the courtesy of some notice of the change. ... read complete review

Damian's interview went very well. He said it was quite simple. They did take paycheck stubs with the I-134 but thats all the evidence they took.. it took about 2.5 hours and he was only asked 4 questions. "when did we start talking?" "when did we meet?" "who flew where first?" and "what interests do we have in common?"

I had my K1 appointment at the London embassy on May 1st. Although there was a lot of waiting around-- about four hours in total-- the people conducting the interviews could not have been more helpful.
First they check your documents are in order, and ask you to pay for your visa. The lady I spoke to actually said 'this is an easy case', which was great to hear as I had been worried because my finace's records show him to be below the poverty line (we have a co-sponsor, and I ONLY gave in his I-134, not my fiance's, although i had it just in case). She also said "we hardly ever have problems with K1 visas", which really helped to put me at ease.
You then pay for your visa (the credit card machine was down so I had to leave the building to get cash), and wait for the second stage...
After about an hour and a half I was called to another cubicle and was asked when and where my finacee and I met, and why I was choosing the move to the United States rather than... read complete review
