A ridiculously easy experience. Arrived at the Embassy at about 7:45am for an 8am interview. The security guards were friendly enough and by the time I went through all the checks I was in the building by just after 8.
At the reception I took a number (5003) and was directed upstairs. I took a seat and within thirty minutes I was called to a window. Here I spoke to a woman who asked to look at my passport, birth certificate and my police certificate. I gave these to her (with copies - except for the passport) and she put the originals in a plastic bag. I was then instructed to provide her with fingerprints. Here I had to do four fingers at a time before providing my thumb prints. After I'd given them - it took a couple of goes - the woman remarked that I didn't have very good fingerprints. Quite what this means, I don't know. Maybe I could have utilised my 'bad fingerprints' for a life of crime. But alas I try my best to be a model citizen. She then gave me a yellow form... read complete review

Well, very anti climatic but a huge relief its finally over and done with!!
Ok arrived at Victoria Stn at 645 and had a quick walk up to Goulds Pharmacy on St Audley street which opened at 0730hrs. When i got there a few other people were also dropping stuff off, which is £5 by the way.
I got two new pictures done to be on the safe side as my others were 8-9 months old. Again £5 for two.
Walked back to the Embassy and joined the queue, about 0745hrs
A young lady was wandering around with small clear plastic bags and telling folk to put any loose change, watches, rings, belts etc inside (basically anything metallic) Ladies if you have a small bag then everything can go inside that from what I could see.
After 5-10 minutes we started to filter thro security. There's a small check mid way where they check your passport and interview letter.
Got through security no problems although they made me drink half my bottle of pop, to prove it wasn't li... read complete review

Well after waking up with nerves constantly, throughout the night in my hotel room across the road from the embassy,I went across at around 8:45 perhaps 8;50 to line up for my 9:30 am interview. After i got throught the two security checks, and got my 5000 number (5017)from the lady at the counter in the lobby, and got up stairs to sit down it must have been ten past nine maybe, it took a few minutes to get through the que, not much time at all. when it was finally my turn to see the first guy (english and very nice and gentle mannor) it was about half ten i think. he got me to sign a couple of things and sent me to counter 12 to pay ( £88.60 gbp)and come again, after which he gave me back my x ray and told me what to do with it, took Vitos 2007 tax returns and employer letter only, birthcertificate plus copy, and police certificate plus copy. my finger prints and photos. once he had everything he gave me the sms courier sheet with the number and... read complete review

Total time Nath spent waiting/interviewing was about 2 hours. People taking documents or interviewing were polite. Nothing terrible or fantastic.

Arrived in ample time for a 9am interview. Had to waste some extra time before they would let me join the queue - there's a Starbucks 100yds from the Embassy gate, heading back towards Oxford St if you find yourself in a similar situation .
I turned up in a shirt and tie which I thought was probably important beforehand. Very few others were smartly dressed but then most were there for tourist visas. If I were to do it again, I'd still wear a shirt and tie, impressions do count, officially or otherwise .
There was some hassle at the first window because the Embassy scheduled my interview at very short notice and before we'd sent the final packet back indicating we were ready and I didn't have an Affidavit of Support with me. That said, the man left it for the IO to deal with, sent me to pay (possible in USD or GBP - I paid in USD which seemed to surprise the woman) and sit back down. The wa... read complete review
